The most underrated sandwich, a peanut butter and jelly, has all of the aspects to create a tasteful, yet healthy recipe. The sweet in the jelly and salty in the peanut butter binds to give the tastebuds a joyous ride. Much like the ingredients in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, hydrogen and geothermal energy compliment each others’ flaws and advantages. These two energies would bring many benefits to San Francisco, California. The costs, environmental impact, renewability, and accessibility would all contribute to how well the sources work in the area.
The location in which hydrogen and geothermal energy would be used most efficiently is San Francisco, California. The best conditions for geothermal energy is extreme heat from within the earth, such as volcanic areas and hot spots. Hot spots occur at tectonic plate boundaries or at locations where the earth's crust is thin enough to let heat through. The Geysers are located just north of San Francisco. The Geysers are a high-temperature, …show more content…
The need for alternative energy to provide a safe atmosphere and cost efficient option is accumulating. The world is in trouble because of the debt and global warming it is experiencing. With a new, adaptable way to produce energy, the major problems could decrease. The opportunity in San Francisco, California is both rare and exciting. The location provides the conditions needed for both energy sources and the energy is environmentally friendly, efficient, accessible, renewable, and has a subsequent cost amount. This energy should be used in California to be experimented and permanently placed in more locations. “There is an urgent need to stop subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, dramatically reduce wasted energy, and significantly shift our power supplies from oil, coal, and natural gas to wind, solar, geothermal, and other renewable energy sources (Bill

J.M. Smuckers; Rules of Innovation

...same family leadership and have grown to become a Fortune 500 company like the J.M. Smuckers Company. From its inception in 1897 as a cider and apple butter purveyor to the international brand and licensor of multiple food products such as coffee, peanut butter, and baking mixes that it is today, Smuckers has always had a Smucker at its helm (Gunther, 2010). The culture of strong leadership instilled in the company early on has permitted them to exemplify Davila, Epstein and Shelton’s (2013) seven rules of innovation while sustaining and growing their company. This paper will outline how Smuckers has implemented innovations in line with these rules of innovation. Innovation in Line with Business Strategies Historically, Smuckers stuck with producing only fruit-related products (Gunther, 2010). This business strategy allowed them to grow and expand globally by purchasing similar companies (fruit and jelly brands) in other countries (Gunther, 2010). However, when sales began to stagnate, a new, more aggressive strategy was devised to focus outwardly on acquiring other brands that were of central focus in most supermarkets (Gunther, 2010). Over the course of the past decade, Smuckers has acquired major brands such as Jif, Crisco, Hungry Jack, Pillsbury and Folgers as well as several minor, but still very popular brands of jellies, coffees, and baking products (Smuckers, 2013). At each stage of its growth, the leadership at Smuckers has analyzed its needs and evaluated where it...

The Cereal Killer

...not THAT Peter Pan. Peter Pan, Smuckers, Skippy, Jif and all brands of peanut butter are potential killers for people who are severely allergic to peanuts and peanut products. Did you know that one of the ingredients in some flavors of Jelly Belly jelly beans is peanut flour? Did you know that food, processed in equipment that has previously processed food containing peanuts, may be as lethal to the severely allergic as food containing peanuts? If your answer is No, then read on. Here is a story that sounds like something from Stephen King. True food allergies are rare. The FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) estimates that only 2% of the adult population of the United States is allergic to foods. Further, only eight foods cause 90% of all food allergic reactions. They are milk, egg, wheat, peanut, soy, tree nuts, fish and shellfish (Food Allergy Network). Many reactions to foods are really intolerance (reaction of the metabolism due to a chemical deficiency) rather than allergy (reaction of the immune system). Many infant allergies, which are later outgrown, are thought to be the result of immature immune systems. However, other allergies become stronger as the person ages and inadvertently becomes more exposed. One report on KCBS radio indicated there may be a link between mothers who ate peanuts during pregnancy and their children’s subsequent allergies. One of the reactions to peanut allergies is anaphylaxis which is characterized by swelling of the mouth...

Cognitive Psychology

...Cognitive Psychology Paper PSY 360 What is Cognitive Psychology? Cognitive psychology addresses the mental processes responsible for understanding why an individual does the things he or she does. These primary principals are: a person’s perceptions, attention, learning, memory, conceptualization, reasoning, judgment, and problem-solving. Perception is the way a person understands and forms judgments and opinions about the environment he or she resides. In point, perception is unique in each individual. It varies based on a person’s experiences and environment. Another key factor is attention. This is based on how a person processes and sorts information he or she gathers. Not all information is retained, and this is how memory comes into play. Information important is stored and can be retrieved at a later date. Information unnecessary is not stored and may not paid much attention to because it is not pertinent information. How a person learns and processes information is based on his or her learning style. Conceptualization is important because it categorizes information and determines what is to be stored and what is to be used and disposed of. Additionally, reasoning, judgment, and problem-solving are large...

Protein

...Protein This paper will discuss how proteins contribute to a balanced diet and the discoveries I made when I consciously monitored my caloric intake and specifically the proteins contained within the total intake of calories. Protein is found in every cell in your body and is a necessary part of our diet. Two to three servings of protein each day will help you get the necessary amount of protein, which can help your body's cells and tissues function properly. Protein is an important part of nutrition and different animal and plant sources of protein provide different types of amino acids Proteins are made up of amino acids, which are used to replace old proteins in cells and tissues that have been broken down and need to be replaced. Proteins are biological polymers composed of amino acids. Amino acids, linked together by peptide bonds, form a polypeptide chain. One or more polypeptide chains twisted into a 3-D shape form a protein. Proteins have complex shapes that include various folds, loops, and curves. Folding in proteins happens spontaneously Proteins are made up of amino acids, and they are the “building blocks” of life. Our skin, muscles, tendons, cartilage, even hair and nails, are all because of protein. Protein helps form enzymes, hormones, antibodies and new tissues. It transports important nutrients in and out of those cells. There are nine amino acids known as “essential” amino acids, and therefore must be derived from what we eat. Arginine classified as...

I chose this topic because I wanted to see how much the pree and media have acces to the celrites. I want to fight for the celberite cause I deserve they need more privercy. My topic is the limitations that should be applied to the paparazzi. I wanted to see how much the press and media have access to the celebrities. Celebrities are just people like us, and they need their privacy. Sometimes you’ll see some really personal in magazines that you will say to yourself “how do they know that?”. I chose this because i want to see the paparazzi can push a celebrity and how much they can learn from the scandals and the relationship problems. I limited my research to just what the paparazzi should be limited on and why. I’ll get most of my research from interviews, magazines, and some websites. I’ll try to interview some people from the press and ask them questions like “ how much of these peoples lives do you know about “and “ do you think there should be some limits on how much you can know about these people”. I’ll see if i can get some interviews of people who have already interviewed drama filled celebrities like Brittany Spears and "the always in the fighting mood" Chris Brown. I want to find out how far the paparazzi is limited, if any at all, and see why they should be limited. ...

Structural Approach to Family Counseling

... Structural Approach to Family Counseling One of the most important goals of a therapist is to understand how a family works. The family therapy movement has had the daunting task of trying to uncover the many facets of the family. Family therapy is full of many different approaches from psychoanalysis to the narrative approach. Each approach has been able to uncover a new aspect of the family. According to Nicholas (1999), the structural family therapy has had a significant impact on family therapy by introducing concepts of family hierarchy and boundaries. This allowed for the introduction to the idea of family as a new and organized strategy to cope with the family dynamic (Nichols, 1999). In this paper, I will explore the historical facts of the structural approach, as well, as detail the techniques and components of this approach. Also, I will explain my own therapeutic technique, and how I will integrate scripture and faith into my counseling sessions. Structural family therapy (SFT) is a model of treatment based on systems...
