...I will write about a snake. The snake I will writing about is the California King snake. How it evolves in its environment. What are its physical attributes? What is a snake? A Snake is any of numerous limbless scaled reptiles (suborder Serpentes syn. Ophidia) with a long tapering body and with salivary glands often modified to produce venom which is injected through grooved or tubular fangs. Found across the Western and Southwestern United States, the California king snake (Lampropeltis getula californiae) is one of 80 recognized subspecies of the king snake. The subspecies has a number of different color morphs. California kings are popular and harmless pets. Hybrids with other king snake subspecies and closely related snakes such as the corn snake (Elaphe guttata) are available. Description At a maximum length of 48 inches and 5 inches in girth California kings are smaller than other king snake species. The head is small and barely wider than the body and the scales are shiny and smooth. The typical coloration is white bands over a black or dark brown background, but there are unbanded races with a single vertical line running from head to tail and others with lateral stripes. Desert king snakes tend to be brown with yellower stripes while coastal animals have the highest contrast black and white bands. The pet trade has albino varieties, but albino snakes are rarely found in the wild. Range While common in California, California king snakes are also found as far...

...variety of exotic pets to choose from, have you ever considered a making a snake your choice? The two most popular snakes to buy are red-tail boa constrictors and ball pythons. These snakes are similar, but there are underlying differences that make the choice to buy one or another very important. Ball pythons and red-tail boa constrictors have many things in common with each other besides the obvious point that they are both snakes, both suffocate their prey, and both are reptilians. These snakes are both known for being very docile creatures. When handled on a regular basis, these two species of snakes are not known to be aggressive. When you think about it, no one would want to stay in a cage all day every day. A regular basis does not have to mean daily. A regular basis is just about constancy. If you are going to let your snake out of its cage twice a week, you need to make sure you stick to this regimen. Another way that ball pythons and red-tail boas are alike is their habitats. These snakes are good about regulating their own body temperature, but they need a little assistance from their owner/caretaker. The tank that you place them in, as their home, needs to have a cool side and a heated side. This can easily be done with the purchase of temperature measuring strips and a heated lamp. Placing the heat lamp and one strip on one side and just the second strip on the other side of the cage, the snake has the ability to slither to either side to regulate its own body temperature...

...blanket that sat on the ground, wrinkling it up as he went. Little did we know we were about to be called upon by the Lord above to do a little bit of something new today. It was time for our weekly picnic that we always had with each other and my dolls. Just as we were finishing up our creamy peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches we heard a loud shrill, “HELP! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!” I looked immediately over to Fuzzy and we sprinted across the tree-lined trail to my grandmother’s home. We came upon her standing on a green plastic lawn chair with a large wooden shovel in her hand. “Grandma, what is wrong?” I shouted from afar. “It’s a snake! There is a snake in the flower bed!” she panted out frantically. Being the rebel I was, I strolled over there rolling my eyes at my grandmother’s silly sense of panic and began searching for the snake. If only I could go back in time and do what any regular kid would do when they sense panic in an authority figure. I would have sprinted the other direction in a heartbeat. I ran to the distress call of my grandmother only to find her weeping in the corner of the yard. “Heavenlee, listen to me, call the police,” she said with a quivering voice. This made me shudder just a little bit. My grandmother was a strapping almost six foot tall, broad shouldered, rugged to the bone woman. I had always looked up to her for her very presence was menacing. She was the embodiment of the word tough. So, to see her whimpering, then revert to a fetal position...

But yeah, I know you’re all probably bored to death after having to stand still and listen to all of these speeches and are probably thinking right now “oh no, here comes the twenty-year-old granddaughter whose going to ramble on for hours”. c. ...important and they should be respected. For example, many important people throughout history were considered different, such as Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Harriet Tubman, Peter Tchaikovsky, and Abraham Lincoln. They did great things, but some people thought they were weird, because they had strong feelings about something. I can relate to these people, because I’ve been in that situation before, many times. It all started in elementary school when I realized that I wasn’t like everyone else. My mom says that I have a tendency of obsessing on certain subjects. Unfortunately, these subjects don’t interest other kids my age and they really don’t interest my teachers. In fact, my kindergarten teacher said she would scream if I mentioned snakes or lizards one more time, while she was teaching the days of the week. I would get in trouble for not paying attention, and the teasing began. In third grade, my teacher informed me that I have Asperger’s Syndrome, and I said, “So what? Do you know that Godzilla’s suit weighs 188 lbs.?: Later, I asked my mom, “What is Asperger’s Syndrome? Am I gonna die?” She said that it’s like having blinders on, and that I can only see one thing at a time, and that it’s hard to focus on other things. Like, I would tell anyone and everyone that would listen about Godzilla, because my big obsession was, and still is, Godzilla — not a real popular subject with the middle school crowd, and so the teasing continues. I might be different, because I...

...My spirit animal is a snake. Snakes are known to be cunning, resourceful, quick witted, and use brains over muscle. Snakes also have an amazing sense of smell. Trust me, I can smell cologne from the other side of the world. Snakes are portrayed as evil and or mischievous. To add more, snakes shed their skin, thus meaning rebirth. Rebirth as in before I was a snake, I was a feisty demon rat child. Growing up, we were all troublesome and malicious. But me especially. I am not entirely sure why I was a no-good-demon-brat, but I do have a few pointers. My oldest sister, Samantha, wasn’t the best influence on me. When I was little some memories are still vague, but I do know that she did some pretty, well, kooky stunts. The act I remember most...

...The Snakes That Are Destroying the Everglades If you had a pet Burmese python that grew too large, would you release it into the wild when you could not take care of it any more? First, you need to know what a Burmese python really is. The Burmese python is a snake originally from Burma (now Myanmar) which can grow up to lengths of almost 25 feet, weigh over 200 pounds, and can eat an alligator, or even a full grown human, whole. They are an invasive species in the Everglades. The presence of the Burmese python is changing the Everglades by Invading the ecosystem, impacting the environment, and bringing tourism. First, Burmese pythons are invading the ecosystem. Most of the Burmese pythons living in the Everglades are there because of bad decisions made by idiotic people. Some people at one point decided to get a Burmese python, ignored the fact that it would one day get too large, and when that day came, released the python into the Everglades (Source 1 paragraph 3). Basically, that means that people allowed a species to invade a complex and fragile ecosystem. Also, these snakes are destroying the natives animal populations by eating more than the environment can handle. This basically means that the Burmese python could very well replace other species of animals by eating them away. So far, the damage to the...

...Poison Ivy is a type of plant that gives you a rash and blistering to the skin. It grows in the forest and even in your own backyard. Poison Ivy, Sumac, and Oak all have the same rash-like substance, called Urushiol, a colorless, odorless, oil. These plants can be anywhere depending on the year and the season the leaves will change color. They will release this substance called Urushiol when they are bumped, torn, or brushed. When the oil is released, it will leave black spots or shiny black spots on the leaf. This rash will appear an hour or up to five days to show on the skin, cool showers and Calamine lotion should help it heal faster, you should never use anti-bacterial soap, it will spread more easily. (www.nih.gov) Poison Ivy should only give you a rash if you are allergic to it, but every now and then people who are not allergic to it might just get it. About 60% out of 100% of people will get Poison Ivy, about 25% will get it if they are not allergic to it. There is many more ways to get Poison Ivy, if you don’t touch it or if your never near the plant, you might get it if your neighbor is burning some of the plants and the substance is inn the air and it will get on your clothing and that’s another way to get Poison Ivy. ...on that one. However, the Burmese python is one of the largest snakes in the world; it reaches lengths of up 23 feet and weights of over 200 pounds. The largest python found thus far in the Everglades was 16 feet long and weighed 152 pounds. Hatchlings range in length from 19-31 inches and can more than double in size within the first year. Burmese pythons are light colored with dark brown blotches bordered in black, and a pale belly. They grow much longer and heavier than any of Florida's native snakes the largest is the indigo snake that grows to 8.5 feet. It is estimated that these reptiles are escaped or discarded pets. State rules that went into effect this year should help prevent those less ethical individuals from dumping these creatures into our beloved eco system. The laws include a $100 annual permit to own “reptiles of concern,” and a mandatory microchip. Nevertheless, it is imperative that more be done to educate people about the problem of turning loose non-native species. In the past several decades, this species of reptile has thrived in the warm climate of the Everglades and surrounding areas of South Florida. Their numbers have since grown, with an estimated breeding population in Florida in the thousands. Pythons are likely to colonize anywhere alligators live, including North Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. So far, reports from witnesses indicate most of the snakes have been found in Everglades National Floods, droughts,...

...Sand... I could almost tell you exactly how many grains lay in this desert. The days are long and hot, and the nights are longer and cold. It’s not a mistake that I am here, I chose to live this way. My name is Gabriel, I am twenty-eight years old. The Wahiba Sands became my home five weeks ago.... I used to be wealthy, with a family, I even owned the largest law firm in the united states. I used to be happy, and filled to the breaking points with love, and life. Until my company that I spent every penny, and every ounce of me on, fell under. My deep black hair began to turn a grey color. We started losing cases, and with a rising rate of failure came the rising debt. The company was going to crash, and I knew. A few months later, the bank came around to take the firm out of my hands. I made a horrible decision, I went to the bank that all of the pension money was stored. I emptied all of the accounts, and carried the money out of the bank in bags. As I was leaving I called my wife, and told her and my son Adrian to pack their things and get ready to leave the country, and that I would explain when I got home. I pull into the driveway, and see my wife standing outside the house. Frantically I told her what just happened. “Gabriel what on earth are you trying to do?!” she exclaimed. “Please just get in the car, I don’t have time. I need to leave, if you wait any longer I’ll have to leave without you and Adrian.” I proposed. She stood, unmoved, and with an unchanged mind...

...Venomous Snakes Most of the time people can’t really tell the difference between poisonous snakes and those that are not poisonous. A lot of people think that every snake they encounter can kill you. There are only 4 types of poisonous snakes that are found in the United States. Cottonmouths, Rattle snakes, Copperheads, and Coral snakes are the 4 types that are venomous. Cotton mouths have elliptical eyes (rounded eyes), and range in color from black to green. They have white strips along the side of their heads. The majority of them live around or in water. They often emerge at sunset to warm themselves on warm ground and then become very active throughout the night. If you have a lake around your neighborhood or backward, becareful. The young cotton mouths usually have a yellow bright tail. Cottonmouths sit with their mouth open when a human comes near. These types of snakes like to stay by themselves so if you see multiple of snakes just hanging out peacefully it is most likely not a cottonmouth. This species is usually confused with a Copper head snake. If you here a rattle like sound in the middle of the jungle or somewhere in your back yard while gardening it’s most likely to be a Rattle snake. A rattle snake has a rattle on its tale. It shakes its tale when it feels threaten so if you here loudly then you are pretty close to one. Their heads are shaped in a triangular head and also have elliptical eyes shaped like a cat. I believe rattle snakes are the ones...

...| Final Exam | AMBA 610 | April 16, 2013 | | Issue 1 – Ethics and Legal Environment The Badaracco’s video file from 2002 lists many important and critical analysis methods for finding a solution to right vs. right problems. He lists four main questions and three tests that will be answered in this answer to find the solution to how the HR should handle the situation with Sansa. Which way of proceeding will get the best net-net consequence? Badaracco’s (2002) right vs. right framework has the first question as what will get the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people. In this question, Sansa’s pros and cons are to be compared with the pros and cons of other employees of Iron Throne Industries (ITI). If HR lets Sansa to work as senior VP at ITI without her having an MBA, many other employees who have worked hard to get an MBA to apply to such positions might feel angry and distrust. Others might feel the credibility of their company has gone down. If she can falsify on resume, she could falsify other documents as well. On the other hand, if Sansa is let go for the reason of lying on the resume and not having an MBA, which was a requirement when she was promoted, the company would be losing an excellent employee who has shown that she is more than capable of her job. In this case, letting Sansa continue to work as a senior VP not only helps Sansa but also to all the employees of ITI as she has been an outstanding worker and would further increase revenue...
