Penta Personal Statement

Penta Career Center has changed my overall perception of school, and I am very eager to share how. Penta is a vocational school located in Perrysburg Ohio, that offers programs ranging from cosmetology to welding. Popular programs include automotive technology, masonry, culinary arts, dental assisting, early childhood education, floral design, public safety, and small animal care. And these are just few of the many programs here at Penta. Oak Harbor is my home school, and I came to Penta my junior year to attend Medical Technologies. I plan to return to Penta for my senior year as well!
I chose to come to Penta because I wanted to get a headstart in the medical field. I knew that being in Medical Technologies would help me pursue my future career of becoming a licensed dermatologist. One of the things I enjoy here at Penta, is that we operate on block schedule. Block scheduling gives me a good idea of what college will be like. Penta also gives me the opportunity to participate and compete in student organizations, such as HOSA and SkillsUSA. HOSA is an organization dedicated to educating future healthcare professionals. The web defines SkillsUSA as “.. a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. We provide educational programs, events and …show more content…
My personal goal is to approach every situation, good or bad, with an open mind. This goal has already come into play towards the beginning of the year. Previously, the idea of meeting new people from different schools terrified me! But I went in with an open mind and discovered I enjoy their differences, which lead me to become friends with them. My academic goal is to have an accumulative grade point average of 3.8 during my junior and senior year. So far, I’m off to a great start! My career goal is to have at least $35,000 in scholarships to help pay for classes at Mercy

MUTUC Researchers CLUSTER 1: APPLIED SCIENCE TEAM CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Economic crisis runs throughout different places in the world. The Global Economic Crisis pulled countries down from around the globe to a recession. Wide-ranging declines in many aspects of growth characterize the overall impact it had on the global scale. This is the main reason why people tend to lessen the spend of money. To reduce spending, households had to buy cheaper goods, for example, instead of buying branded clothes; people tend to buy more affordable clothes. People also tend to lessen the electricity and water consumption. Another way is using charcoals instead of Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG in preparing or cooking their food. Almost all of us are aware of Global warming. It is the unusual increase in the Earth's surface temperature since describe the beginning of the 20th century. Scientists believe that this is caused by some human activities like illegal logging, deforestation, burning of garbage, fumes of factories, and smoke from vehicles, improper deposal of garbage and regular using of insecticides. The greenhouse effect is a vital natural process that...

...[pic] Blekinge Institute of Technology Ronneby-Sweden School of Management June 2005 Do organizations have IT Strategies? A Study on how organizations describe their IT Strategies. Masters Thesis in Business Administration (FED 006) Author Stephen Rupia Lyabandi Executive Summary Title: Do organizations have IT Strategies? A Study on how organizations describe their IT Strategies. Author: Stephen Rupia Lyabandi Tutor: Anders Hederstierna Problem: The research problem of this study is lack of insight on how organizations describe their IT strategies in relation to other strategies. IT strategy continues to be a major challenge for Information Technology intensive organizations and managers. Over the last two decades, the way researchers on information systems have viewed and analyzed IT strategy in organizational systems has not significantly been modified. Recent studies show that one of the main problems is that the concept of IT strategy has been around for nearly two decades and although many organizations have been using it, the meaning and reference of the idea remains elusive. Those who have attempted to define it have not reached an agreement. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to define the problem and explore whether organizations...

Innovation

...REV: SEPTEMBER 5, 2007 ROBERT D. AUSTIN DANIELA BEYERSDORFER Bang & Olufsen: Design Driven Innovation “The Farm,” Bang & Olufsen’s futuristic glass-and-concrete headquarters, rose out of the green fields of western Denmark “like something lifted from a Stanley Kubrick dreamscape.”2 In a nearby parking area, Christopher Sorensen stepped from his car and walked toward the entrance, on his way to meet with a high-powered group that included the CEO, to discuss an important product program. Within this 80-year-old company, based in rural Jutland where local people might still consider you an outsider after 30 years, Sorensen would be very much the newcomer. Despite that, he would try to convince the others to adjust the firm’s successful design process—to change a winning game. In April 2006, Bang & Olufsen (B&O) sold a range of televisions, audio systems, loudspeakers, telephones, and other products (see Exhibit 1) in more than 60 countries. The company had a worldwide reputation for idea-based products of high quality and artistic design, many of which held places of honor in the permanent collections of the world’s greatest art museums. (According to a citation at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, B&O had “delivered the largest and most consistent design portfolio among the world’s industrial companies.”3) This level of accomplishment translated into high price points (see Exhibit 2) and profit margins, realized through an exclusive network of dealers, from devoted...

An Experimental Comparison of Er and Uml Class Diagrams for Data Modelling

...Empir Software Eng (2010) 15:455–492 DOI 10.1007/s10664-009-9127-7 An experimental comparison of ER and UML class diagrams for data modelling Andrea De Lucia · Carmine Gravino · Rocco Oliveto · Genoveffa Tortora Published online: 11 December 2009 © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2009 Editor: Erik Arisholm Abstract We present the results of three sets of controlled experiments aimed at analysing whether UML class diagrams are more comprehensible than ER diagrams during data models maintenance. In particular, we considered the support given by the two notations in the comprehension and interpretation of data models, comprehension of the change to perform to meet a change request, and detection of defects contained in a data model. The experiments involved university students with different levels of ability and experience. The results demonstrate that using UML class diagrams subjects achieved better comprehension levels. With regard to the support given by the two notations during maintenance activities the results demonstrate that the two notations give the same support, while in general UML class diagrams provide a better support with respect to ER diagrams during verification activities. Keywords Controlled experiments · Entity-relation diagrams · UML class diagrams · Design notations · Comprehension · Maintenance · Verification The work described in this paper is supported by the project METAMORPHOS (MEthods and Tools for migrAting software systeMs towards...
