...build. There comes a time where you must choose, Continue or just give up. Many continue, others invent a better life and others leave, they plunge into alcohol, drugs, and eventually find themselves stuck in a worse position. Some of them manage to escape, others get stuck and end up buried alive. The world lives with Hope, dreams and goals. When Hope goes, happiness goes too. As a result, when you stop dreaming, you stop living… Dreams give a certain hope, courage that luck is out there and not everything is black and white. The concept of a dream refers more broadly to the idea of an "imaginary production" or "ideal", which gives us reasons to live and gives us goals and objectives . For example, an athlete could dream of winning a medal in the Olympics. This dreams gives him desire and courage to excel and to he will do every single thing possible to achieve it . In result , he will have a purpose in life. He will Chase after something he really wants. A dream is a world where anything is possible. It’s a world that restores hope when you have lost everything, a world that gives you another chance to be happy and move on, do what you want and to illuminate your life. A world that allows you to believe, to love, even when you do not feel it anymore. When you wake up in the morning, after a wonderful dream, you think "Oh it was just a dream ..." and so you need to go back to your normal routine. But dreams give us...

...The Path To Success Throughout the history of man, every person has had the same question. How can I become rich? Some may deny the want and for some even need to become rich, but there is no denying it. At some point we all fantasize about what would happen if one was to win the lottery of inherit a large sum of money. Wouldn’t that be great! I’m sure if you asked these same people what they would do with the money one they acquired it you would begin to see a trend; new car, new house or maybe even a boat! From only a select few would you hear a response such as stocks, bonds or real estate. These select few are the ones who will truly be rich someday. The vast majority of the population will spend countless hours online, in the library and talking to others with similar ideas of their latest and greatest “get rich quick” scheme. If only they would put the same effort into actually learning keys to success and reading literature that is actually worth the time you put into it more people would end up living how they always dreamed. For many, that’s all being rich will ever be, a dream. But then there are those who see no other option; they read books, take classes and immerse themselves in knowledge to try and gain an upper hand but even out of these few there are even less that will actually succeed in actually fulfilling their dream of becoming rich. However, there is hope, but only if you put in the work. The book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki is a great place...

...Muhammad Usman Qureshi Mr. Michael Steele 15 January 2016 Racism Speech Festival-16th Jan Honorable judges and respected guests, Imagine living our lives in constant paranoia, where we feel like we are being watched everywhere we go. Imagine living our lives, where we feel like we are judged on everything we do. Imagine living our lives, where we are judged for the color of our skin. This, ladies and gentlemen, is racism. Racism causes thousands of cases of deaths and destruction across the globe every, single, year. In our modern society, ‘racism’ is a combination of prejudice, prejudgment and bitterness directed against someone of a different skin color, different culture and even a different belief. There are different forms of racism; interpersonal racism, institutional racism and internalized racism. No one likes to be left out, so Why do we judge? Why do we pass the torch of stigma to this world? Why do we ignite the flame of hatred? 50 years ago, Martin Luther King dreamed of the day these children will no longer be “Judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” But today, we see that racism remains as a very real threat to our world. We’re not born with racism; we are born as blank pieces of paper and act upon what is written on it. We act upon what society tells us. Is this what our society is? A community of individuals that strive to discriminate Asians, Africans and Arabs? Statistics by the Oxford...

...read the book, I felt that I was always on my toes with suspicion of what was going to happen next. Growing up in privileged society made it difficult for me to relate to what the three men were going through. However, the book made me understand the harsh struggles and feel empathy for the characters. The risk that these men were wiling to face showed me the great amount of pressure they had to better their lives. Marwan was the youngest character in the book. Knowing that he is young, it is easy to assume that he would be the happiest of the men because he has been living in the chaotic life for the shortest duration. However, he never feels content or happy, “but what was the reason for his having such a feeling now, when he had not seen a film like that for a long time, and only a few minutes before the threads of hope that had woven fine dreams in his heart had been broken in the fat man’s shop?” (Kanafani, 37). It was impossible for him to find satisfaction in the harsh life styles he was living. He dreamed of a better life for him and his family and was willing to do anything for it. My empathy towards the characters climaxed while seeing their undying commitment to the pursuit of a better life. Abu is willing to leave his wife, son, and newborn child back at home, in hopes that he completes this dangerous mission, even if his life is at stake. At their final checkpoint before they reached Kuwait, the smuggler, Abul, was held longer than intended, while...

...responsibility of planning and saving for their retirement today, they will find themselves working far longer than they expected or living at a lower standard of living. Social Security was introduced during the Great Depression by President Franklin Roosevelt to provide benefits to those who qualify for retirement, disability, and death. The system is set up so that it funds itself. It uses the funds that working individuals pay into it through taxes and pays out to those collecting Social Security. This means that even though working individuals are paying the Social Security taxes today, it does not necessarily mean the money will be available for them to collect when they retire. This is because the money does not go into a retirement account for each individual paying the taxes and saved for their retirement, but instead is used to fund the system for today’s retirees. When the amount collected from tax deductions is greater than the payout to participants, the excess money is saved in the Social Security Trust Fund. Many people believe that relying solely on the Social Security System for their retirement needs is a secure plan. They assume that as people retire, there will always be a younger generation working to fund the system for current retirees’ Social Security benefits. However, this is not exactly the case. As Baby Boomers are retiring, the number of people paying into the system will decrease, while the payout amount will increase. Even with the new generation...

...In The Great Gatsby, Nick says to Gatsby, “I wouldn’t ask too much of her…You can’t repeat the past.” Gatsby answers, “Can’t repeat the past? Why of course you can!” page 118 chapter six. This quote brings up an interesting question. Is it really possible to repeat the past? I believe that you can not repeat that past because the people around you change and who you are as a person change. Over time all of these things change which makes it impossible to repeat the past. “For over a year he had been beating his way along...as a clam digger and a salmon fisher or in any other capacity that brought him food and bed.” In the past Gatsby was just a small town boy, the son of two poor farmers. Sure he dreamed of being someone else, of doing...

...“My Parents are getting Divorced” What do you think of when you hear about a single mother raising her three kids? Usually, people think of a deadbeat mom, and low life, rebellious kids. However, in my mother's case, you see an independent woman, who is confident in her kids and in her job. My mother isn't the kind of parent that you would see in the newspaper for killing she was desperate for money or love, or too depressed from a divorce to care for us. Living in my house as a youngster was rough. The holidays were the worst. My parents fought about everything, from the Christmas tree, to the turkey on Thanksgiving. Nothing was ever "normal" in my home. The day my parents got divorced was probably the best day in my mother's life. It was most likely because she wanted to make my brother's life and mine easier. Because we would no longer have to hear the screaming and yelling at three AM about the house not being clean. My mother was a happier person when she wasn't fighting with my father. And the house was a lot quieter. I'm sure my mother had been thinking about divorcing my father for sometime. But, why hadn't she done it when all hell broke loose? Or when all the fighting had started? That question still burns in my brain. I know things would have been worse if they had stayed together. My mother and my father were completely wrong for each other. My mother was all about organization and my father was just a big mess. As for us kids, we turned out pretty well...

...Care I had a dream... One day I would open my eyes or wake up and I would no longer need smoking to keep me calmed and grounded and in that state of comfort. I would be cured. I would then walk to the trash bin with the smokes I had on hand and ditch them, along with the old habit with total good ridence and gratitude that I finally had smoked enough to cure myself. Wow. What a lie. And that was really true. I did have that dream. I dreamt it wherever I'd go. And it didn't matter where I went. I always needed a smoke. And with every smoke I had I would wonder, will this one be my last? Will I finally have enough in me to cure once and for all? It was also a way of holding onto a fantasy. Dreams do come true, but not in the way you may think they do sometimes. My dream of being smoke-free came true, but not in the way I dreamed it would. I had the most illusive dream. It is much like, the American Dream. Because each person is different and have different ideas about how to live an ethical way of life without damaging life around us now, and it is us who need to make the change, to be that change, we wish to see in the world. There are lots of lies that are told to us throughout our lives. most of mine came in the first 30 years of my life. It is hard to break free from all of those lies. They have become quite ingrained within us and when we go to release something that we have healed, another thing pops up and thus continues a cycle of releasing and healing...

Only days went by and they did not know what to do with their “creation”. The poor child did not even have a name. The two finally came to a solution to get rid of it. It was a cold, winter night, 2am in the morning. The Oswald’s went out to drop the baby off at an orphanage. Wind was knocking trees down, there was nothing but white in the distance. As they arrived at the destination, Susan scurried through the snow, up to the entrance of the orphanage, as Frank stayed in the car. Susan dropped the baby in front of the door, rang the bell, and quickly ran back to the car. Frank drove off in an instant. The baby was of course crying and freezing. The hosts of the orphanage, Shirley Claus and Santa Claus quickly awoke and ran down the stairs. To their surprise was a blonde, little boy sitting on their front step. They happened to think he was quite adorable. They took him in and put...

...The Corrupted Dream by Stephanie Provenzano For many people since the beginning of time, wealth and power have been essential tools for the success within society, yet somehow these desirable goals always seem to fall just beyond their reach. The Great Gatsby is solely oriented around the fact that the American Dream, embodied in the ideal of the self-made man, was a corrupt piece of American history. Nick Carraway, the narrator, helps give the reader a better look into the lives of those living amongst the chaos within New York, specifically those who live on the Long Island Sound. Coming from a wealthy family, Nick receives all of the benefits of his family’s inheritance and was fortunate enough to avoid the corruption and learn the essentials to become a respectable man. “‘Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,’ he told me, ‘just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.’” (Fitzgerald 5). With this essential life lesson, it can be concluded that throughout the testimony of his experiences, Nick intended to remain unbiased as he informed the reader of the corruption within society. Those living in East Egg were born into families where money was passed down for generations, and family legacies portrayed themselves to be careless people that address others to be of a lower status. As Nick was continuously exposed to the foul behaviors of the “higher class”, he began to acknowledge the true corruption that was going on...
