People Need to Dependent on Technology Technology products are quintessential to human being’s knowledge. Technology products include computer, cell phones, cars and so on. Since technology products have been invented, they bring a lot of benefits. However, some people doubt that technology products are bad for people. Some people think that technology products have strong radiation; that they may hurt people’s bodies, such as headaches and damage to the eyes. Also, technology products update very quickly. People need to have more time and energy to learn how to use them and use them well. This may cause people to feel restless and anxious. Even though there are some disadvantages showing those technology products are bad for people, the good effects still outweigh the disadvantages. This essay focuses on how computers bring people a lot of help. People need to dependent on technology, such as computers can help people to calculate, computers make people’s lives easier, computers make people less lonely and computers have the equivalent of human intelligence. Computers can help people to calculate. In scientific research and engineering design, there are many complicated numerical computations. Sometimes people cannot calculate them using human knowledge. They need to depend on computers, because computers are good at solving these complex precise mathematical problems. Computers also make fewer mistakes. According to Wilson and Redish, people want to use computers to teach physics classes. Not only for topics already taught, but also for some introductory courses in which students skills can be developed (Wilson, J. M., & Redish, E. F. (1989). “Computers may find a natural niche as both a mathematical and a pedagogical tool (Wilson, J. M., & Redish, E. F. (1989) P2).” In the article, research physicists and physics educators say they believe that

People Have Become Overly Dependent on Technology

...People Have Become Overly Dependent on Technology Gary McClellan DeVry University People Have Become Overly Dependent on Technology The topic for my research is “People have become overly dependent on technology” and it’s very interesting. The interesting part of this is I’m learning more about people being dependent on technology. To understand more about being less dependent on technology and be comfortable with myself and not have a condition called, “Nomophobia”(no-mobile-phone-phobia). I found out this terminology by researching and using the school library. To me being overly dependent on technology is redundant and out of control. What happens when you lose power and system goes down? You get into a state of panic because you just lose some very important information, now you’re stuck. As I continue my research I’ve learned more and more of the effects of being dependent on technology. This makes me more knowledgeable and now I can warn others of not being dependent on technology. Now I understand why people become dependent to the point of no return. Here are some devices use amongst teens and young adults and also grownups, cell phone, I-Pads and tablets along with other sources of electronic devices are being used in today society. Notice everywhere you go you see the devices being used. Whether you’re in the office, out in the park, at a bus stop or just plain walking these devices will have your attention. While using these devices time goes by and you barely...

Dependent on Tech

...People Have Become Over Dependent on Technology We are living in a society which is called "technologically civilized" society. Every small work we do is technology dependent. Today every other person is recognized with the device or gadget, he carries; which is technically advanced. Ultimately, we can say that, “living without technology is like living without air" in this technical world of today. Therefore, we are much dependent on technology.People have become overly dependent on technology. Most people depend on their cell phones, on computers for internet, and on transportation engines. Because of their dependence on technology, people do not get all the exercise that they need to be healthy in every way. Most people have become dependent on their cell phones to memorize other peoples contact information. Becoming over dependent on your cell phones is not good for your memory. Also depending on your cell do not let you memorize family member’s phone number for emergency. If you depend on your cell phones you are not exercising your brain enough, it also let you lose your ability to think. For example, if you want to type a text message the words will pop up for you. Becoming over dependent on your cell phone is also a source of distraction, because if I found a class boring I will just go to my phone and starting chatting with my friends. A lot of people these days are over dependent on technology they rely on computers for use of the internet. For example, if a student...

...Argumentation-Persuasion Essay
People have become overly dependent on technology We are living in a society which is called "technologically civilized" society. Every small work we do is technology dependent. Today every other person is recognized with the device or gadget, he carries; which is technically advanced. Ultimately, we can say that, “living without technology is like living without air" in this technical world of today. Therefore, we are much dependent on technology. Our lifestyles have changed and still continue to change each time a new invention is created. Among the most influential are wheels, light bulbs, telephones, transportation vehicles, refrigerators, radios, televisions, plastics, and computers. The initial purpose of these inventions were to make work easier to do, be able to see in the dark with electricity, communicate more efficiently and quickly, and move all across the world at a faster pace. I am glad we live in a technological society because we can research items quickly by using the internet; communicate with people from great distances within seconds; and carry large and heavy loads on trucks, ships, and airplanes. With this in mind, are we as a society forgetting how privileged we are and taking our lives for granted?
In the good old days, people were very self-sufficient and created many things from scratch, such as bread, butter, and clothing. Unfortunately, many people today are not taught to do these things because we...

Dependent Generation

...Alisha Nanda Mrs. Waller English 11H Period 2 March 5, 2015 The Dependent Generation June 20, 2016. The new predicted Doomsday. Huh, coincidentally, Doomsday lies on the date of my high school graduation, also known as the day society ends. Why? Well, because my generation, 1990-2003, is the dependent generation. We are dependent on technology, of course, but also dependent on parents. My generation is addicted to technology. The multitude of devices now readily available explains the origin of our dependence. Even teachers now use technology as part of their curriculum. Considering this fact, an argument stating that students do not actually need their many devices is proven invalid. Students indeed require their phones to be successful in school. For example, in physics, my classmates and I used our phones to videotape an oscillating spring to gather data for a lab. Therefore, the vital incorporation of technology into education forces students to own phones and partially justifies the use of technology, but it does not rationalize the obsessive use of technology. Inside and outside of school, all that matters is Facebook, Google, and Snapchat. Technology consumes three hours and sixteen minutes of our lives every day. (Woollaston) People today believe that they cannot live without our IPhones and Macs. Interestingly enough, many of these people have actually experienced a technology-free world, and therefore, know that it is possible to live without checking Facebook...

The Issue with Technology

...The Issue With Technology This course has affected me to think differently about technology. It has showed me that many times, we rely on technology too much. Dependence on technology erodes community. Online and offline, when it comes to computers, phones and other such devices, you have created the potential for major distraction and danger. Distraction in the sense that one can spend too much time or too much energy trying to better yourself (often against others) through the technology you have. If you are focusing on how to help others, not on how many more gigabytes you can download with a certain machine, you can be a society that prides practical support for each, over personal security in any virtual world. Danger in the sense that not everything you can encounter through technology is going to be of use to your well-being and/or, by extension, others. Take any of the pornography, alcohol or drug industries. Previously these had a much more limited influence. Now you can access them simply through a click. Community requires effort, and if you want your society to improve itself, it should have to put in an effort to help one another. Using these tools together, and not letting yourselves get sidetracked by their other purposes help you to be independent. You also want to stop society abusing itself because it can. Technological devices can be useful, but from a spiritual perspective, one has to take care of how they are used for everyone to benefit. We are getting...

Society Overly Dependent Technology

...IS SOCIETY CAUSING PEOPLE TO BE OVERLY DEPENDENT ON TECHNOLOGY? ASHLEY A MACKALL Are we overly dependent on technology? The society we live in now is called a “technologically civilized” society. Without technology, where would we be? How would we communicate? How would we work? How would we be able to do school work? How would we do our daily task without this thing called “technology”? In my opinion, I think we depend too much on technology. Instead of picking up a newspaper, a book, or a magazine, we turn to our computers, cell phones, and televisions for everything that’s going on in the world. You can login to Facebook, and find out the daily news. Is digital reading taking over our minds? Instead of traveling in a car to see a friend or family member, we Skype, we Oovoo, we Tango, or use some form of web chat. The internet has become our lives, we Google everything we need. Will the next generation suffer from this; will we depend to heavily on technology forever? Technology can be useful, and very efficient, however I think that we are occasionally ruled by it. What will happen when it comes a time that we can’t do anything at all without technology? Sources say that we are losing the ability or willingness to think and or memorize on our own. If we were to wake up one day, with all of our electronic devices disabled, everybody’s life would be impacted. People use their electronic devices as soon as their eyes open in the morning. Are we becoming too reliant...

...without the use of constant technology. Even so we have become dependent on it to live our daily lives. Less than a century ago we lived without being so dependent upon technology and we can again. Not to say that we should abandon technology completely but we have become entirely too dependent. In the Pixar movie “Wall-e”, humans have destroyed the planet due to their lack of care for the environment. They then are regrettably forced into living in space on a ship called the Axiom because the planet is inhabitable. Wall-e is just one of many robots who have been created to help clean up the planet. The people on this ship have everything given to them and have no intentions of returning to Earth anytime soon. Although the movie does take the extreme route, it is a good depiction of how we are becoming more and more reliant on technology which could prove to be detrimental . In Wall-e every aspect of humans lives on the Axiom are consumed by technology. It tells them what to do and when to do it. They are waited on by the robots so that they don’t even have to walk or get up from their chairs at all. Their screens block themselves from the outside world and what is going on around them. They are sucked into their technology so much so that they have almost lost any contact with other humans at all. Even the simplest of tasks are done for them such as brush their teeth, change their clothes, and even walk for them. Of course we do not have the technology to accomplish this today...

Technological Development and Dependency

...Rodrigo Contreras 11/26/2012 Randy Ringen Technology Dependence Technology is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a preexisting solution to a problem, achieve a goal and perform a specific function (Wikipedia). Technology generally speaking is the process by which humans adapt nature to meet their needs and wants. According to a study performed from May 2010 to May 2011, Google receives 1 billion unique visitors per month; from math homework to relationship problems. Google gives its users the ability to search on a variety of topics. Just an example on how humans have become too dependent on technology. By becoming too dependent on technology will give negative effects to our ability to think, our education, and we will become lethargic. Many people believe we are losing our ability to think because we now have computers to give us the answers and to even correct our spelling. The mere thought of having a helping hand called the "Internet" in situations that you can solve all by yourself, is the sign of dependence. I feel that technology interferes with our ability to think and work for one, by making information too accessible for us. We can simply look something up, the answer is there, and we don't have to think or explore the subject. Everything is on the internet. Technology, with games, Facebook on the go, and texting, provides constant...

Technology Life

...Technology life The advancement of modern technology is making people's life more and more comfortable, and at the same time less human. To those who enjoy the benefits of technology, there is no better time to be alive than now, but to others life has been increasingly complex and stressful. In the discussions, one controversial issue has been new technological machines as computers and the Internet would be our servants forever or eventually could become our masters. On the one hand, people are so dependent on technology, and technology is very helpful for us it changes a lot with our life. On the other hand, some people believe that we should not always dependent on technology, we will little by little to forget how to write the word, and how to calculate the math or money. Are We Dependant on Technology

...Are we dependent too much on Technology? In my opinion there is a high number of the world’s population that is extremely dependent of technology. The reason for my opinion is looking at the world today there is technology everywhere, weather the technology is at home or even at your local fast food restaurant; looking at the technology we now have cell phones, tablets, and even game systems. With all the technology there is too much crime and not enough teaching going on. Cell phones are a thing of the future they said. They have become a part of everyone’s daily lives. We are using cell phones for everything from phone calls to video games, and mobile gps. Being able to activate your phone when away from your home is amazing except for when you are driving a motor vehicle it becomes a hazard and distraction so u are more liable to cause a car accident. Playing games are even better but then again what ever happened to playing outside, reading a book or even having family time; sitting around the dinner table and enjoying a board game. Families and couples even go to bed with their cell phones and that is the last thing in there hand when they fall asleep. I have walked in to stores and asked for a map and they laugh and ask me “What is that?”, with cell phones and gps systems you are able to have maps on your devices and even electronic maps that talk to you. There are so many people waiting on the next new cell phone. Everyone had a computer of some sort of computer...

What´s Is Google Making USupid?

...Impact Modern technology is holding society back from its full potential. Nothing beneficial will result from being dependent on the internet or its capabilities. The internet is clearly being overused by most people and this bad habit needs to be put to and end. Nicholas Carr believes that the internet has affected people’s thought processes in a negative manner. He said this because technology personally ruined Carr’s good reading habits. Paying attention to long pieces of writing is now harder for Carr, due to his habit of constantly reading from electronic screens, opposed to books. In his book “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” it writes, ”The deep reading that used to come naturally has become a struggle”(Carr 314). This particular quote shows the negative effects of technology. As a result of too much internet use, Carr, a heavy reader, lost his focus easily while reading a normal sized book. This made him realize to how extreme of a change was made from simply changing where you read from. It is concerning to me that someone could lose a skill this quickly, because they are so vital in everyday life. This negative process will be more...

Much Needed Technology

...Much Needed Technology The article “Can You Hear Me Now” by Sherry Turkle talks about this generation’s obsession with technology. In my essay I will be talking about how adults and kids today always need to be using their phones, iPads, iPods, etc to get through their daily routine. We are so used to having technology at our fingertips, what would happen if we got it taken away? Would we be able to function? In Turkles writings the article states “We spend hours keeping up with our e-mails… “I look at my watch to see the time. I look at my Black Berry to get a sense of my life”(273). I agree with what Turkles is saying because we need to learn how to not be dependent on technology like it used to be. Technology does not have to be everything to us; it just needs to help us along the way. Today technology has essentially taken over; you can find anything you need for your everyday routine. From grocery stores, social networking, email, games, stocks and also the newspaper. In an article by Clay Shirky called “Traditional Newspapers are Becoming Extinct” states that “the problem newspapers face isn't that they didn't see the internet coming”(opposing viewpoints). Newspapers used to be such a big thing but now that the internet has arrived things like that are slowly disappearing. The world of technology is basically telling everybody that to get these things they need to have a piece of technology like an iPad, iPhone, laptop, or a regular desktop computer to just get these...
