My monster is perfectionism, my desire for things to fall into place perfectly and without flaws. The inspiration for my drawing was to create something that is perfect and beautiful, to represent my perfectionism, but also something that has a negative side to it to represent the fact that not everything is perfect and that I will learn to conquer my monster of perfectionism by realizing that although something I do may seem imperfect, I need to try to find beauty and something positive in all of these things. The piece of art that I created shows a flower, with one side being absolutely beautiful and without flaws, representing the monstrous part of me that is a perfectionist and desires flawlessness. Although there is a monstrous part to me, a side of me that is unfavorable and that holds me back, there are qualities that exist that balance out my inner monster. I am a hard worker, and I put forth my best effort into everything I do. I am also perseverant, so when I do not reach my goals or obtain the results I want from something, I keep working at it until I am satisfied with what I do. I am confident and outgoing; I don’t let others get in the way of something that I desire and have been working hard to get. Although all of us have monsters that hold us back and show our unfavorable qualities, we also have positive qualities that help people to see the best us and that help us to cope with our inner monsters. My monster happens to be perfectionism, but I balance out my monster with my perseverance and confidence, and I will learn to conquer my monster by accepting that things have flaws and by seeing the beauty and the good in
