Self Management Behavioral Contract
Michelle is a person who can read but is not a reader, she would love to be able to read some of those interesting books that she has at home such as Battlefield Of The Mind, It’s Your Time, And The Purpose Driven Life. Unfortunately at this present time Michelle can’t seem to stay focus or concentrate when she is reading. She seem to become bored before even getting started she believes that because she doesn’t have any since of motivation which make her reluctant to start and finish the book she reading. Then there the fact of her not being able to comprehend what she has already read. Which make her wonder if her lack of concentration is playing a significant factor. Michelle feels that it is very important that she gets in the habit of reading a book or any other source of material daily. And become a disciplinary person when it comes to her self of not following a certain guideline that can be beneficial. Reading today is vital just like our organs are reading helps readers to brand new things and with the development of a great self image. It’s one of the main factors in which society look on individuals to be able to do. Michelle feels that if she began now by creating a plan and setting goal in regards to reading it would remind her of what is about to take place. Michelle agrees to the following terms to make time for reading by taking one hour out of her busy schedule everyday to read a of the mention books above and she can’t not start another one until this book is fully completed. She must read one chapter everyday day within the given time frame, This time must be when nobody is their to distract he, where the television is not on, the cellular phone is on off or on vibrate and the house phone is set up to take messages, Keep with your book a dictionary, tablet and pen for word and note taking. she must surrender a prayer before and after her reading. Michelle must keep with her at all times a source of reading material to use while waiting for appointments, traveling, or when there nothing else to do. She must start preparing herself now for the set date of January 1, 2012, She will join in with others that are in the family book club, One book every month must be completed for the first six months there after beginning on July 1, 2012 increasing it to two books for the last six months of the year. Extending the time frame to a reasonable amount of time to that is needed to complete the books. This goal is subject for review every thirty days to determine the progress. With read and be aware of what her moral obligations are in essence to her accomplishing her ultimate goal. Learning to read will not only help me to become a better reader but a better listener, self awareness, broaden my vocabulary, add motivation, concentration, comprehension. Reading will help Michelle to become a better thinker and performer. Michelle will be require to produce an certain amount of effort each day in indentifying various unknown words and it’s meaning, She understand that reading and comprehension can’t be separated because one can’t function without the other, and that nothing will happen until she can concentrate, stay attentive to what she is doing, and she must discipline herself and mind to keep it from wandering and wondering everywhere but where it should be. There will be consequences for when these terms are not meant or the contract itself has been broken. Such as creating a whole new plan or strategy that is suitable for the completion of the goal or a consequence that is suitable for the purpose.
At the end of the contract Michelle will have successfully completed her goals. She would be able to review the book that she has read and still be able to obtain the information that was given. By sorting out those negative thoughts, and staying aware of what she thinking about, reading, hearing and meditating on the information that she taking in she can continue to concentrate and comprehend much better now. This helps to keep her mind from wondering all over the place. Her reading strategies should come into motion when reading any form of material. This will help her to keep the information freshly store in her memory for when she needs to discuss it. Her vocabulary has increase through her word alert list she created through reading. It has given her the opportunity learn, pronounce and gain the meaning to new words which can be apply to her life especially when communicating with others. All these accomplishments open up greater opportunities even some that she desire. Such as a better job and more income, writing up memo’s letters and during reports, and becoming a better listener. This type of goal has been define as open/ ended time frame after the first year. This goal was design because she truly wants to accomplish her ultimate goal and break down those barriers that hinders her from achieving it.
