I’m Boxu Fan. A junior here in Agnes Scott. Thanks for everyone taking time to review my case. Sincere I was a kid my parents taught me 5 words in Chinese 仁义礼智信. Transfer into English is Benevolence Righteousness manners wisdom trustworthiness. It’s the five constant virtues in Confucianism. My parents believe that manner makes a man perfect. And I’m trying to apply what they taught me in my life everyday. I believe that the people who knows me well will agree that I’m a good one. Honor means honesty and fairness to me. That’s why I turned myself in to honor court in the first place. After talked to Prof. Schaeffer last semester, I learned that I have miss understanding about the word “create”. I should have said “I convert the jpg. file I found into that stp. file” I want fix the inappropriate issues I did. My intention was not to plagiarism or to be dishonest. I take my education seriously and I do not want in any way to risk my education at Agnes Scott. I have learned my lesson from this experience to always fully disclose my sources and when I am not sure to always contact the professor. It is my sincere hope that the Honor Court will look at this case with clemency.I hope the honor court could understand that I’m an International student have a different background. I don’t have enough knowledge about plagiarism. Using a free open resource not for business activities won’t consider plagiarism in my country. I know I’m here in US now I need to obey the rules
