Washington High School had just finished its annual minicon competition with Irvington High School. I went home proud, of all the first year DECA members and their performances in the competition. 7 of our first year members had placed in top 3. Hearing the names of students being called up and knowing I spent the last few months helping them reach this level was a remarkable feeling. Seeing their faces light up when being called on stage made my face light up as well. All the work put behind planning workshops and trying to make it more interesting for the members finally paid off.
