The journey to finding the best college for me was a strenuous one, filled with many ups and downs and tearful nights, plot twists that simply cannot be conveyed in less than 500 words, but alas, I will attempt to tell the gist of it. You see it all began during the horror known as eighth grade, a time many people wish to forget, filled with a longing for high school that my senior mind simply cannot comprehend.
Part One: Issy Decides on a Career
The state of Delaware requires that all eighth grade students research a handful of careers they wish to pursue for the rest of their life. I had planned on being several things as an adult throughout my childhood, ranging from a chef to a rock star, and up until our government funded soul searching in eighth grade I had every intent to become a school teacher. However, upon further research, of which included my interior designer godmother’s visit from Chicago and my after school care programs newly bought interior design kit, I soon found a new calling. Interior design became a passion of mine, much to the appeasement of my Nana, who had hoped for me to be in the home designing field for most of my life.
