These past few years in the NJROTC program have shaped who I am today immensely. From the timorous freshman to the confident senior, I’ve gained such amazing skills through myself and peers driving me. The abilities I have picked up grant me the chance to use them to make a difference in the world. The ability to adapt and be flexible, the ability to command attention, the ability to depend on someone else, and others have given me opportunities that will help serve and honor this country.
The first half of my freshman year in NJROTC, I was a weak kneed and cowardly cadet. I trembled every inspection. I was scared to sound off. And I didn’t hold any confidence in my drill abilities or my future as a leader. Yet with guidance of my platoon
