“Thanks mom!” I shouted as I ripped opened a box that had a new pair of pants in it. All I had been asking for was a new pair of Lu La Ro leggings. Everyday and night it was “can I have a new pair of leggings.” The answer was always “no.” My mom said they were too expensive and thought I would ruin them. She may have been right but sometimes it is hard to accept that we can learn a lot from people from other generations.
I was so happy I did not even realize the phone was ringing with a call from my friend. She invited me to a party later that afternoon. I was so excited, I could wear my new leggings and show all of my friends. I quickly finished my chores, threw all my clothes in the closet, and was ready to go.
As soon as I was done, I flew down the stairs but before I got to the door my Grammy said, “Mackenzie, you shouldn’t wear your new pants. They could get ruined.” …show more content…
At the party we decided to play a game of football. After choosing sides, we called the first play. As I was running down the field to catch the ball I made a huge jump and the brown leather ball stung the palms of my hand. Suddenly, before I could land my legs got all twisted and I fell to the ground. Luckily, I was in the end zone! I couldn’t believe it. “Touch down,” I screamed and spiked the ball. But when I looked down to brush myself off, there staring at me, was a huge hole. Tears welled up in my eyes as I slowly walked back to my
