I stepped into the school parking lot with everybody already there is was easier for me to blend in with the stings of students heading inside the building. I followed the last few students into the school stopping to close the door behind me only stopping when I caught sight of a guy with dark fluffy hair dark eyes and he was tall and broad, though. Average height but he was taller than me that's for sure. He locked his car and started walking towards the door I was holding open. "Thanks." he mumbled pushing past me and disappeared down the hall full of chatter of friends and the whispers of fantasizing

Software Requirements Specification

...SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION RFID Parking Garage Anthony Nichols Matthew Nichols 1.0 Introduction Finding parking spaces for automobiles and motorcycles can a problematic venture due to limited space and time, while the selling of parking spaces is potential lucrative endeavor. Currently, most large parking garages, including airport parking, use a ticketing system in which users get a time-stamped ticket when entering the structure and pay a time relative fee when exiting. The transmission of these disposable tickets is a time inefficient process susceptible to error. These tickets can easily be lost, and with the lost tickets, the entire process disoriented. The manual payment process can also be time consuming when traffic is at a high rate. An RFID parking system would improve this by allowing the user to interact with the parking area with an RFID card at the entrance and exit of the parking area. An RFID parking system would also allow the user to keep an account on which the system would keep track of financial transactions. This would reduce the amount of time the user must interact with the system and increase the security of the user. A new system to allow ease of use and increased security of parking areas is needed 1. Goals and objectives • To provide individuals who require a parking area with a system that is efficient and easy to use. • To provide individuals with a system that accounts for the length of each visit and...

A Folklore Is the Unofficial Culture of a Group

...Justin Harris Devon shiver Mohammed Awadallah Kedrin “Rex” Mckinnis Group summary Pages 1-9 The introduction is about a mishaps and why people should be satisfied with their looks. A woman from Murphy, North Carolina was officially tying the knot. Even though she was happy She wanted a better image, by getting a tan. Instead of going once a week, the woman was tripling her dosage of radiation. The day before her wedding, they found her dead in the tanning booth. The lesson to this story is don’t overdue tanning and be thankful for how you look. The tanning bed story is a warning to everyday people and famous stars. Individuals are so worried about their image. The folklore to the story is, people shouldn’t worry so much about what they look like. Tanning won’t change anything, just the color of your skin. You’re still the same individual, so increasing your visit at the tanning booths won’t do nothing but damage your skin if you overdue your visits. A contemporary story is a tale with some truth to it. They’re disagreements with contemporary stories, because audiences think the tale is bogus and are at disbelief with what is told. Unless there is actually prove, most people will check sources on the Internet for any truth within the story. Legends are passed down from generations, which often change up the origin, this makes it hard for people to have belief. Invention

...invention Commercial Break!!: Creative Play With Media Influence Purpose: Works well to introduce a personal visual media paper, or other media analysis paper, because it encourages students to think critically about their childhood experiences with TV, etc in a personal, creative way. The exercise may become an early paper draft, or simply stimulate their thinking about the programs and commercials they have watched, and how these media affected them. Description: Students will write creative narratives about a childhood TV experience, then trade papers with another classmate, who will assess the program, the narrator, and then complete the narrative with a commercial break description suited to the program and audience. You may want to have your own example written up to read to them before each step, just to get them thinking about what’s possible. Suggested Time: 20 minutes to a full class period Procedure: Ask the class what their favorite shows were as kids: cartoons, sitcoms, even documentaries. You may want to bring in a few stills or uTube clips to project (in a tech class), as a memory jogger (ex. The Cosby Show, Ren & Stimpy, etc). Once you’ve discussed a nice variety of TV programs, ask the class to freewrite for 5-10 minutes (however long you wish to tell them) in first-person P.O.V. about their experience watching a show like these as a kid. They should be specific and detailed, writing whatever comes to memory about what’s going on in the program and their thoughts/reactions/and...

...T/R 9:00-10:50 Rolfe 3134 Office Hours: W 12:00 - 2:00 pm Mailbox Location: Humanities 149 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ COURSE DESCRIPTION English 4W aims to expose students to the three major forms of literature (poetry, prose fiction, and drama) through the art of close reading, which literary scholars broadly define as the practice of scrutinizing a text carefully in order to discern complex patterns of meaning. It is impossible to spend sufficient time on the works we will be exploring within the bounds of class-time, so you will be required to spend time reading and writing on your own; this is a practice that will enable you to bring your personal experiences with these works to our discussions in class and participate in an engaged way as part of our community of learning. But our community of learning is broader than the classroom—it also includes the community organizations you will be partnering with for your service-learning. We will be investigating and interrogating a versatile metaphor—cultivation—and how it impacts the cultures and communities in which we live. “Cultivation” leaves its trace on culture both linguistically in the morphology of the word and symbolically by informing the figures we use to talk about the establishment, maintenance and the dissolution of a culture -- as when a character in Shakespeare’s play Richard II refers to England as a “sea-walled garden”...

...N I N G O B J E C T I V E S 10 1. Identify the purpose and structure of narrative writing. 2. Recognize how to write a narrative essay. Rhetorical modes simply mean the ways in which we can effectively communicate through language. This chapter covers nine common rhetorical modes. As you read about these nine modes, keep in mind that the rhetorical mode a writer chooses depends on his or her purpose for writing. Sometimes writers incorporate a variety of modes in one essay. In covering the nine rhetorical modes, this chapter also emphasizes these as a set of tools that will allow you greater flexibility and effectiveness in communicating with your audience and expressing your ideas. rhetorical modes The ways in which we effectively communicate through language. 1.1 The Purpose of Narrative Writing Narration means the art of storytelling, and the purpose of narrative writing is to tell stories. Any time you tell a story to a friend or family member about an event or incident in your day, you engage in a form of narration. In addition, a narrative can be factual or fictional. A factual story is one that is based on, and tries to be faithful to, actual events as they unfolded in real life. A fictional story is a made-up, or imagined, story; the writer of a fictional story can create characters and events as he or she sees fit. However, the big distinction between factual and fictional narratives is based on a writer’s purpose. The writers of factual stories try to recount...

English Essay

...English - Final Exam Terms to Know The following link is very helpful: Examples Glossary from Your Dictionary Alliteration In alliteration, the first consonant sound is repeated in several words. A good example is “wide-eyed and wondering while we wait for others to waken”. Alliteration can be fun, as in tongue twisters like: “Kindly kittens knitting mittens keep kazooing in the king's kitchen 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Alice’s aunt ate apples and acorns around August. Becky’s beagle barked and bayed, becoming bothersome for Billy. Carries cat clawed her couch, creating chaos. Dan’s dog dove deep in the dam, drinking dirty water as he dove. Eric’s eagle eats eggs, enjoying each episode of eating. Examples of Alliteration Allusion “I was surprised his nose was not growing like Pinocchio’s.” This refers to the story of Pinocchio, where his nose grew whenever he told a lie. It is from The Adventures of Pinocchio, written by Carlo Collodi. “When she lost her job, she acted like a Scrooge, and refused to buy anything that wasn’t necessary.” Scrooge was an extremely stingy character from Charles Dickens’, A Christmas Carol. “I thought the software would be useful, but it was a Trojan Horse.” This refers to the horse that the Greeks built that contained all the soldiers. It was given as a gift to the enemy during the Trojan War and, once inside the enemy's walls, the soldiers broke out. By using trickery, the Greeks won the war. “He was a real Romeo with the ladies.” Romeo was a character...

Flextime

...Introduction to Flextime Flextime is defined by businessdictionary.com as the non-traditional work scheduling practice which allows full-time employees to choose their individual starting and ending times within certain limits (such as 'not earlier than 5 a.m.' and 'not later than 9 p.m.'). Flextime periods usually precede or follow a core time during which all employees must be present. According to history records, flextime was first suggested by Christel Kaemmerevback back in the year 1956 and was first implemented in West German businesses in 1967. Flextime was introduced as an intervention to reduce tardiness and absenteeism which resulted in 40% reduction in absenteeism, along with decreased overtime expense, decreased turnover rates, decreased tardiness, and increased morale. The practice of flextime spread quickly through Western Europe due to a high demand from workers and less governmental restrictions on work schedules. At the present time, due to the advancement of information technology and information system, this has further maximize the flexibility of work during the core hours to be stretched to working during non-core time like the weekends by enabling employees to work remotely from home instead of being physically present at the office. Flextime is no longer just considered as a benefit or privilege for the employees, but is able to provide competitive advantage for the organization over its rivals by being more flexible as a whole by providing quicker and...

With so much experience, no one could blame you for wondering why you need a course or this book to tell you how to look at movies. After all, you might say, “It’s just a movie.” For most of us most of the time, movies are a break from our daily obligations—a form of escape, entertainment, and pleasure. Motion pictures had been popular for fifty years before even most filmmakers, much less scholars, considered movies worthy of serious study. But motion pictures are much more than entertainment. The movies we see shape the way we view the world around us and our place in that world. What’s more, a close analysis of any particular movie can tell us a great deal about the artist, society...
