Butler came off the screen rose up for the three “SWISH!”. “It works everytime” Butler said. Final minute in I never was the type to give up, But it was one obstacle in my life that i could never achieve. The community depended on us, our family depended on us but we always came up short to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I play for the Chicago Bulls and we had been the best team in the eastern conference for 3 years in a row. We overcame all obstacles in our way through the regular season but in the NBA finals we always came up short to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but this year they had another thing coming. It was the final game of the regular season and we were facing the Los Angeles Lakers, We Won 100-94, but after the game Kobe Bryant told me “Hey …show more content…
Coming up the court I was calling out the play “2-6,2-5!” I shouted and my teammates got into position. Lopez set the screen for Jimmy Butler, he came off a hard screen I dimmed the basketball right into his chest he caught the ball rose up for the three and made it. 54-52, we came back in less than 2 minutes in the fourth. We had to keep this momentum Two Minutes left in the final quarter with the score 54-52, we rebounded the ball and we set up the play. I screamed out “Iso” “Iso”, I felt the passion to put the team on my back. I did a crossover to the basket, euro-stepped and banked in a floater. The game was tied. “It's a minute left in the game, Coach said, “We have to keep this momentum if we want to win this game….Bulls on 3, 1….2…..3 BULLS!. We scored a fantastic 10 point when we came from the break to put us in the lead and win the game. It was 3-3 in the finals and we needed one more win the be Nba champions….. And we weren't giving …show more content…
“It's going down to the wire Clark” the report said. And that it did. Back to back baskets makes this game even more interesting and the whole world is eager to know who is going to win. I was on my career high 37 points and I was going for 40 it was 10.2 seconds left on the clock score all tied up 99-99 and the ball was in my possession. I can hear coach from the bench saying “ Galloway it's on you take it home, take it home!” I couldn't let my hometown down so I had to do what I had to do. 5...4...3..2..1, I crossed the Cavs point guard he hit the floor pretty hard I rose up, with the perfect release and hit the shot. I jumped in the air fist pumping shouting “ WERE CHAMPIONS! WERE CHAMPIONS!” my teammates came and landed on the top for me because I hit the game winning shot. And I was the MVP of the Nba finals. I received my trophies and the reporter asked me “ Tyrone what did you expect to come in this game. I replied “Well i expected nothing but the best, and I knew if I focused on the objective and never give up we would eventually beat the Cleveland Cavaliers and that's what we did tonight and now were the champions of the world. Moral of the story never give up on a obstacle you can do anythig yoi put your mind too.ing with 5.4 seconds left in the first quarter, I got the ball ran down the court I can hear the crowd saying

...A Comparative Analysis of Nike and Adidas Commercials * A Multimodal Approach to Building Brand Strategies Mads Nørgaard Hansen Dennis Gade Pedersen BA Marketing and Management Communication Supervisor: Carmen Daniela Maier Department of Language and Business Communication Aarhus School of Business Aarhus University 2010 A Comparative Analysis of Nike and Adidas Commercials * A Multimodal Approach to Building Brand Strategies Mads Nørgaard Hansen and Dennis Gade Pedersen Abstract Heavy competition in the sports industry has caused organisations like Nike and Adidas to focus on more than just selling sportswear- and equipment. Organisations need to differentiate themselves and focus on both product attributes and brand values when creating brand strategies. Therefore, we have found it interesting to see how Nike and Adidas communicate their branding strategy differently and have set up the following hypothesis and questions: In Nike and Adidas commercials the organisations make use of complex multimodal choices in order to communicate their branding strategies. 1. Which multimodal choices do Nike and Adidas employ in order to communicate their branding strategies? 2. Which personality traits are similar and different in Nike and Adidas product and value commercials? Due to the complexity of our hypothesis, we will employ three frameworks: social semiotics, film theory, and branding. These frameworks will help us to analyse and...

Literature

...FEATURE ARTICLES Motivating and engaging students in reading Jenna Cambria John T. Guthrie LJjdvcrsLiv û", J ou can certainly ignore motivation if you choose. But if you do, you maybe neglecting the most important part of reading. There are two sides to reading. On one side are the skills which include phonemic awareness, phonics, word recognition, vocabulary, and simple comprehension. On the other side is the will to read. A good reader has both skill and will. In the "will" part, we are talking about motivation to read. This describes children's enjoyments, their wants, and their behaviors surrounding reading. A student with skill may be capable, but without will, she cannot become a reader. It is her will power that determines whether she reads widely and frequently and grows into a student who enjoys and benefits from literacy. So we think you should care about motivation because it is the other half of reading. Sadly, it is the neglected half. Y What is motivation? Many teachers think of a motivated reader as a student who is having fun while reading. This may be true, but there are many forms of motivation that might not be related to fun and excitement. What we mean by motivation are the values, beliefs, and behaviors surrounding reading for an individual. Some productive values and beliefs may lead to excitement, yet other values may lead to determined hard work. We talk about three powerful motivations that drive students' reading. They operate in school and out of...

...The Art of Computer Game Design by Chris Crawford Preface to the Electronic Version: This text was originally composed by computer game designer Chris Crawford in 1982. When searching for literature on the nature of gaming and its relationship to narrative in 1997, Prof. Sue Peabody learned of The Art of Computer Game Design, which was then long out of print. Prof. Peabody requested Mr. Crawford's permission to publish an electronic version of the text on the World Wide Web so that it would be available to her students and to others interested in game design. Washington State University Vancouver generously made resources available to hire graphic artist Donna Loper to produce this electronic version. WSUV currently houses and maintains the site. Correspondence regarding this site should be addressed to Prof. Sue Peabody, Department of History, Washington State University Vancouver, peabody@vancouver.wsu.edu. ...book and because we enjoy talking and writing about pedagogy. Yet when we recall the discussions we’ve had with colleagues about instructor’s manuals over the years, two unnerving comments stick with us: “I don’t find them much help”; and (even worse) “I never look at them.” And, if the truth be told, we were often the people making such points! With these statements in mind, we have done some serious soul-searching about the texts that so many teachers—ourselves included—frequently malign or ignore. As we have considered our quandary, we have come face-to-face with the central paradox that characterizes the genre: Teaching manuals tend to be distant, mechanical, impersonal, and lifeless, when in fact good teaching is immediate, flexible, personal, and lively. In this manual, therefore, we have attempted to communicate to fellow teachers...
