I journaled about the part of my life that I came to United States. I faced obstacles but they didn’t totally stopped me from follow my plans. The definition of obstacle is a thing that blocks one’s way, and this meaning maybe was clear to me a year and seven months ago, and that moment I even could change this much through a year. But now I can see that I passed those obstacles, and I reach this believe that nothing is impossible,instead everything is possible to achieve if you work hard and put it as your aim in life. I born in Iran, and right now I am living in the Modesto, CA. I am 17 years old and studying in Grace M. Davis high school. It has been one year that I came to the California, since October 2016, and the first two month was the hardest part in life for my family and specially for my father. We lost our home and everything in Iran and my dad lost his jobs there too. We brought kind of lots of money and that was helpful because we could rent a house and have money for the days that my father was without job( we almost spend eleven months like this). My dad came 20 days sooner that me, my sister, and my mother. At first when he came he didn’t know that there should a person with a good income to be a cosigner for us to rent a house or apartment because in Iran we didn’t have credit cards like visa card or mastercard, so my dad even didn’t have income. He ended up looking for a relative to be a cosigner for us. That was the one of hard parts because my dad had have no place to stay except one of our friend, they let my dad stay in their place, but after days they kind of told my dad to find a place faster because they couldn’t have my dad in their house more ! In addition to this part I need to say that we weren’t like refuges to get help from government except for medical that government paid for it. Finally, two days before me, my sister, and my mom arrive to the U.S. my dad asked my mom’s uncle to be consigner for us,, and he accepted. So when we …show more content…
It’s been one and six month since we came to the U.S. and one important thing that I learned about was to past the harsh moments and never give up on my dreams. First day of school every thing was a challenge for me. I tried to try everything na don’t stop on what I want. I thankful from my parents because they push me to stand up and try new things and don’t be afraid to meet new peoples and talk to them. In these one year my English improved a lot because of all the hard work that I did and especially my kind teachers. During all these month I found out that American people are really kind to the people that respect them, and they never wanted to destroy my personality. I learned that I can not judge people by their appearance, and they way that they look; we need to talk to them and know them before judging them.
