For my externship I went to Rheumatology and Anemia located at the Layfette Cancer Center in Brewer. I was very nervous at first and then once I got used to it I really enjoyed the environment there and the people.
Karen Master is the supervisor for the floor and she had me sit with a number of people in several different fields such as Coding, Billing, Patient Advocate, and the Receptionist for Check-in and Check-out. Sitting with everyone for a short period of time it helped me decide what I want to do when I get done school. I would really like to work as a receptionist for the check-in or check-out.
