The first time I played softball we were at the Phenix City softball ball field and I had to learn to not give up on something I really wanted to do. So the first time I stepped on the field all I could do was see the sun and smell the oxygen. The next day I hit the ball for the first time ever and I was so ecstatic. My mom and coach were so surprised and happy that I need that with only a couple minutes of practice. After I hit that ball I ran all 5 bases, my coach was so happy for me. It is not easy to play softball, you just need to try and not give up.

When I got on that softball field for the first time all could do was see the sun in my eyes and smell the oxygen while my heart was pounding with fear. I was dreading the start of the softball season because I was new, and didn’t know how to play. My coach was very nice and understood that I was nervous and fearful so the first day of practice all we did was practice passing the softball underhand and overhand. Which was helpful and painful at the same time. Which I knew it would be when I started for stories I have been told. …show more content…
Of course all I could do at that moment was hold the bat and see my coach staring right at me. Suddenly our pitcher, pitched the ball to me and since I didn’t know I was supposed to hit it I just stared at it. However the second time she pitched it I swung the bat as hard as i could. As a result of that I hit the Softball for the first time. From then on I’ve been playing softball which is really fun after you get passed all the nervous

Softball Personal Narrative

...On March 1st, 2016 my life, softball career, and friendships changed forever. On this day I was at a regular softball practice when I got seriously injured. In a matter of a second I went from being perfectly healthy to having countless medical restrictions. On this day my entire world changed. This day I was at a regular softball practice. I got to play up the next game so I was practicing with the varsity team. We were working on fielding double play bunts and I was a second basemen. Little did I know that was the last time I would ever be allowed to play second base. The ball was hit to third base fielded to second and then myself on one. I heard what I thought to be the first basemen saying that she had the ball, I did not hear correctly. The very second I turned around to walk...

Personal Narrative: The Sport Of Softball

...Softball has been a very important thing to me. It is a game that you either like it, or you do not. There is no gray areas. No if,ands, or buts. You have to put forth your full efforts for every play. You never know if the ball is coming to you. I think that is why I like it so much. I started playing softball at the young age of eight, which is when kids usually sign up for the all so powerful tee ball or coach pitch. Now this was a really big step for my eight year old mind. It was the first time for me to become a part of something I know all too well about now, but at a young age a team can mean everything. I really knew softball was my passion when I stepped out onto the field for my first ever practice. This is where it all started.Dad always said,”Practice makes perfect honey.”well...

...Fans cheering, players nervous, the intensity is high. Runners on all the bases, score is 4-4 winning run is on third with just one batter left. Just in a second, the longest game ever became the shortest. The run had scored, and we lost. Ever since I was little, my love for the game of softball has flourished. Not only has softball taught me plays, it developed me as a person. The hard work that the game requires teaches a lesson to never give up, even when you make a mistake. Softball has connected me to my work in the classroom and outside of school to always fight through tough times. In college if something isn't going right I will work hard and set my mind to the difficult task and get it done. My freshman year on the softball team...

Personal Narrative: The Softball Game

...The Softball Game Everything is moving in slow motion, everyone around me seems to be moving at the pace of a snail. I can feel every single one out of ten thousand jolts of energy sparking through my entire body. My eyes shoot around like crazy trying to follow everything that’s happening outside of my head. I can’t think of anything else, only one single thought occupies my mind… ‘Will we win?’ I ask myself this question over and over again, nonstop. Then the world speeds up moving at a fraction of a second than it was a minute ago. Someone is shouting over and over again, maybe it’s me. This game would determine if American Legion (my softball team) would make it to the championship game. It’s the second to last inning...

Personal Narrative: A Girl's Softball Team

...gave a forced chuckle. “Most guys don’t ever turn me down,” she said, abandoning her proud smirk, her tone abruptly fierce. “Well, I'm sure you can find those guys then. I'm not really looking for anything right now,” I amended. It was apparent that Ani was offended. She opened her mouth to say something sharp, but quickly she regained her composure and continued her approach. “Well, if you ever need a date you know who to call,” she said signaling a phone hand gesture to her ear. She then rolled her eyes and sashayed away. I shook my head. I was done with girls like Leena, too forward and unpredictably volatile. “Wow, she came off a little strong.” Glancing back again, I saw a freckle-faced girl I recognized as being on the girl's softball team. “Some girls just need to take it down a notch if you know what I mean.” “What? Yeah,” I acknowledged, raising my eyebrows briefly. “I just think it’s stupid that some people are so desperate to go to homecoming. I mean it’s just homecoming, it’s not the end of the world, people!” she said dramatically. “Right,” I said, snatching a yogurt and a chicken sandwich. “Yeah, it’s just sooo stupid. It’s like c’mon people, get over it! It’s just a dance! Hello?” She shook her head with a laugh. “I’m Brenna by the way,” she introduced energetically, extending a hand. “Jared,” I replied, feeling a sense of deja vu as I shook. “Oh, of course, I know you,” Brenna said, making quotation fingers. “You’re Jared Rider, Mr. tall, popular quarterback...

Personal Narrative: The Last Day Of Softball

...“Strike three, you’re out!” yelled my coach as the ball whipped past the plate. It was the last day of Softball tryouts my sophomore year, and I had struck out at every at bat. I walked back to the dugout with a feeling of complete disappointment, dragging my bat along the dirt. Like my Papa always said, “failure is the first step to success.” I kept wishing he was there with me in that moment to tell me all of the things that kept me motivated and helped me know what to do in these situations. He always tells me that taking advantages of the positive aspects of failure can be beneficial to later accomplishments. I would always practice with my dad or my sister and we would have a fun time practicing. I liked being a part of a team and having something fun to focus on. Emergency Situations

...Jonathan Peragine Professor McMillan English 101 June 9, 2015 Emergency Decision-Making Unfortunately, people are confronted with medical emergencies all the time. Such emergencies can be very scary and the people involved must make crucial decisions without much time to deliberate. Because emergencies happen so frequently, I usually already have a detailed plan of how to act when I encounter them. However, I know from personal experience that even if a person has a plan for how to navigate an emergency, his plan will go out the window the minute his emergency becomes a reality. He will have to make the best decisions that he can in hopes of them not coming back to rest on his conscience. In my experience, driving my girlfriend to the emergency room with a suspended driver’s license was not what I would have planned, but ultimately satisfied my conscience. A few years ago, my girlfriend decided that she wanted to play college softball. This meant that I had to spend every weekend going to watch her softball games. One weekend, as my girlfriend was up to bat, she tried to bunt the ball and the ball hit her finger, crushing it between the extreme force of the fast ball and the titanium bat in her hands. Because of the strange thud noise that this created, I knew pretty quickly that something had gone wrong. I became immediately nervous and as she turned to me with a pale and distressed face, my stomach dropped into my shoes. As we made eye contact, I began to hear a slight...
