I was born and raised in San Francisco. A fast paced city that was constantly up to date to the newest and brightest tools of technology. I was raised around pioneers of the future. People who knew the future would not come about from dwelling in this past.

These people were my mother and father, novelist. They are people you wouldn't expect to be highly interested in the future success of technology, but they were. They knew that with the advance of technology, the more ideas they would call me up with for their next hit.

My mother, Donna Klein Friston, was a writer in modern romance. She wrote them for lonely housewives or the casual romance reader. They weren't necessarily trashy, but they were definitely not kid friendly.
