His prodigious literary voice and style provides remarkable insight into the lifestyles of the rich and famous, as well as himself. Exploring themes such as disillusionment, coming of age, and the corruption of the American Dream, Fitzgerald based most of his subject matter on his own despicable, tragic life experiences. Although he was thought to be the trumpeter of the Jazz Age, he never directly identified himself with it and was adverse to many of its manifestations. The life of F. Scott Fitzgerald was deeply divided, in that his early successes in the 1910’s and 1920’s contrast noticeably with the years full of personal happenings and self doubt. ...Compare & Contrast Othello and “O” Despite working with low-budget and a small crew, Orson Welles makes his Othello interesting and memorable through several techniques. He generates a sense of suspense by placing the final scene in the beginning of the movie. When translating play into film, he creatively rearranges the scenes while keeping the text intact and shoots from odd angles to produce interesting lighting and shadows. Even though some of the characters in the film do not quite live up to the viewer's ideals of the characters, Welles's Othello still achieves remarkable success. In order to accompany the powerful words of Shakespeare, Welles chooses to shoot from either slightly above the usual camera angle or below it to create a dramatic effect. As the movie begins, the cameras angled from the ground up to show off dark, sparsely clouded skies, and soldiers in dark silhouettes marching to a funeral. When Welles shoots the first scene between Othello and Desdemona, he chooses Venice, a traditionally romanticized city, to emphasize the early attraction between them. The students within these walls came to me with their own uniqueness and various degrees of capabilities. Students were selected based upon their need for improved reading comprehension. After interviewing the classroom teachers (there were 4 different ones) and observing students in their classroom setting the research students were selected. I met with each student individually to get an estimate of what their reading levels might be. The four components of CSR (preview, click and clunk, get the gist, and wrap-up) can be used to stimulate student’s motivation to read, help with decoding print, and comprehend and respond to text. Researchers believe it has improved their students’ reading comprehension, increased their vocabularies, and enhanced cooperative skills, Student’s process over the long term will be evaluated based upon their ability to begin to show automaticity in utilizing the strategies learned as part of CSR.
