...Personal Perspective Paper- Decision Making Model Personal Perspective Paper In the decision making system there are two common models the rational model and the normative model. Each represents a dissimilar purpose. Both model offers unique comprehension into the decision-making process. Decision making is coming up with solutions that lead to an end result (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2004). In becoming an administrator I realized that decision-making is a key factor to success. In my knowledge the decision making model is a principled guide to business decisions. In reading about the decision making model, I have learned that the rational model is used to identify the process in four stages and the normative model is the outline process used to make decisions (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2004). One way to identify the problem is to look at the history or gaze at the problem through another person’s discernment. An example would be a administrator’s at a dentist office may think staff is not meeting the scheduling criteria because censes is low this during the 3rd quarter. This method may not always be accurate because there is room for error. Therefore, an alternative solution is necessary. After a solution is selected then applying and assessing the solution is where the core of the work begins. In my experience by following certain criteria’s could save time and money for the organization. Following the basic decision making process could prevent putting a process...

...Personal Perspective Paper MMPBL/500 October 18, 2010 Personal Perspective Paper Decision making is an important aspect in everybody’s day-to-day lives. “Decision-making models are all about making good judgments. There are judgments that are emotional, spur of the moment, horseback or back of envelope – quick decision. There are also the rational informed kind” (Stellar Force, 2010, para. 1). I have used all types of decision-making models in my life; however, I am going to discuss how I have used the five-step decision-making model and a SWOT analysis to help me make different kinds of decisions. Five-Step Decision-Making Model I have already earned my Master’s in Business Administration and in doing so; I have learned large amounts of information about different types of decision-making models. However, one of the decision-making models that I have used most in my educational career is the five-step decision-making model. This model a simple five-step process that is easy to follow. The five steps of this model include “1. State the Problem, 2. Identify Alternatives, 3. Evaluate the Alternatives, 4. Make a Decision, and 5. Implement your Decision” (Stellar Force, 2010, para. 3). The five-step decision-making model uses logic and a normal thought process that should be used most of the time in making decisions, especially when they are important decisions. SWOT Analysis Another decision-making model that I have used most of my educational career is a SWOT analysis...

...Running head: PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE PAPER Personal Perspective Paper name school class title class number instructor date Personal Perspective Paper Having lived for 54 years so far, I’ve had opportunities in my life to make a wide array of decisions, ranging in complexity from what to have for dinner to whether or not I was going to build my own home. Each of the decisions I’ve had to make have employed some level of a graduating decision making process from flipping a coin (often used to decide what to have for dinner) to taking weeks developing a Rational Decision Making Model (done when my wife and I decided we would build our home ourselves). In a professional environment, working for the Boeing Aircraft Company, in St. Louis, on the military programs as a Quality Engineer, I’m required to identify the root cause of problems the inhibit the most cost effective methods of building aircraft. My professional decision making tool box includes models of a more statistical nature such as Taguchi Diagrams (Fishbone Diagrams) which I use to identify the many possible causes for an effect or problem and immediately sort ideas into useful categories which are then easily analyzed to determine the best course of action to eliminate a problem. Other statistical tools I use consist of XBar and R Charts, and a Decision Making Matrix, much like the 9 Step model our assignment used this week that I became familiar with quite a few years back when I began working...

His smooth voice was very enjoyable weather he sang pop, jazz, or love ballads. We sort of lost touch with his music during the 80’s and most of the 90’s, until one day we saw him on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He played a hologram named Vic Fontaine, a Vegas nightclub and casino owner from the 50’s. He was his own starring headline, singing Sinatra style love songs and ballads. Well in 2005, I found out James was in town, and I wanted to take my wife out to his performance on her birthday. We both thoroughly enjoyed the performance, and lived up to our expectations of a swinging, sophisticated cat who could still sweep a woman off her feet with just a song. We were especially touched by the tribute he paid to Sandra Dee who had passed away just a few months earlier. His tribute was very emotional and heartfelt, highlighting the associations they had together throughout the years. My wife and I missed the days when couples went out in style, dressed to the nine’s. Men dressed in suites or Tuxedo, and women in evening gowns. James Darren embodied that spirit of sophistication and class Born James William Ercolani...

...Decision-making models are used in every organization, as they are an important aspect in the running of a business. Client based organizations can be the most difficult because the clients come first and the goal is provided quality services and make a difference in their lives. FEGS WeCARE is a non-profit organization funded by HRA to service Welfare recipients and assist them with returning to the work force. Decisions have to be made on a daily basis in a program, which services approximately 1000 clients per day. The first step would be to identify the problem and determine possible solutions. Some instances require an immediate response however others can be more challenging. This can occur when there are multiple parties to please beginning with upper management, staff and clients. This author attempts to motivate staff and show them that there are always a way to prioritize the daily job functions and at the same time focus on the needs of each client as an individual. Decision-making skills can make or break the structure of a program if there is a loss of trust. To gain the trust of staff it is important to prove that one is knowledgeable of the structure and needs of the business/program. Some staff may not be happy with the policies and procedures that are being implemented but because if they personally witness the decisions being made that directly impacts their day-to-day activities, they will may continue to strive for the goal of the program. Decisions made can...

...can affect the ending results of an organization or even a personal situation. Different businesses and personal situations require specific types of decision making models and managers are especially responsible for how organizational or departmental decisions are made just as individuals are for him or her families and self. In my previous and most current position, I have had the opportunity to experience several styles of decision making models. From ethical decision making, responsible decision making, collective decision making, and rational decision making, I have found that the most used styles are rational and ethical. I believe that ethical decision making should always be considered first depending on the situation and is essential is any decision, for the reason that it can benefit or damage an organization. Rational decision making can have the same affect; however, this type of decision can either be ineffective or effective (Carmeli, Sheaffer & Halevi, 2009). These types of decision also consist of a well thought out order: • Recognizing the problem or situation • Producing a variety of solutions • Identify the consequences • Choosing a solution • Evaluating and implementing the solution This is a cognitive process and each step is followed in a specific order and seems to be the most common approach used in making decision (Carmeli, Sheaffer & Halevi, 2009). In my professional and personal experience, I find it necessary to ask myself questions to...

...In this paper, this author will be writing about the different perspectives of motivational learning. Though there are several views, this paper will focus on four in particular theories, which will include Behaviorism, Cognitive, Humanistic and Sociocultural perspectives and this paper will compare and differentiate the difference of these perspectives. Motivational Behavioral Perspective of Learning According to Huitt, (2011), he describes the Motivational Behavioral Perspective of Learning as “elicited by stimulus associated/connected to innately connected stimulus and obtain desired, pleasant consequences (rewards) or escape/avoid undesired, unpleasant consequences”. In other words, Behavior is the response to stimulus, it has been suggested that all behavior is learned from the environmental conditioning factor (McLeod, 2013). According to McLeod (2013), it is further implied that “Behaviorism is primarily concerned with observable behavior, as opposed to internal events like thinking and emotions”. To further explain this theory this author would have to say that from the behavioral viewpoint motivational learning is the result to the individuals surrounding and upbringing. The individual surrounding and environment that the person is subjected to is the stipulation that frames the persons motivation to learn. People can also be motivated to learn based on specific ways that they receive praise and rewards from their community. For instance, McLeod (2013) states...

...Personal Values Paper Students at University of Phoenix were asked to complete the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self-assessment. The students were then instructed to examine the Ethics Awareness Inventory and the ethical profile they are most closely aligned with and least closely aligned with. They were then asked to compare their personal values to the values of Kudler Fine Foods. Therefore, this paper will examine the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self-assessment, the results of Tracey Adams, a University of Phoenix student, and how her values compare to the values of Kudler Fine Foods. People make decisions in their business and personal life and must rely on their values to make ethical decisions. How can ethics be categorized or defined? Ethics are defined by The Williams Institute as “a branch of philosophy, is concerned with morality, moral problems and moral judgments, dealing with such elusive terms as values, right and good. It deals with issues beyond the realm of traditional rules and customs and unconscious habits” (The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management, 2008). The Ethics Awareness Inventory provides test takers with two ethical perspectives: one they are most aligned with and one they are least aligned with. These perspectives make up the acronym CORE (Character, Obligation, Results, and Equity). The character perspective focuses on what it is good to be rather than what it is good to do. The individual’s character...

...Personal Values MGT/521 November/23/2009 Charles Raney Personal Values In this paper I will talk about my experience with the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory (EAI) self-assessment in relation with my personal values. Base on my experience with the self-assessment, I will talk about what Kudler Fine Foods recognize as values within the organization. This paper will also compare how my values align with the values of Kudler Fine Foods. After comparing the values alignment I will talk about the way these values would affect my performance if I was a manager at Kudler Fine Foods. The Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self-assessment represents prominently ethical philosophy, which is use to analyze your own characteristics on ethics. I have learned that ethical perspectives vary depending on the individual and can provide me with a general point of view to approach ethical issues. According to EAI ethical decision making is compose of three important factors, awareness, articulation, and application. These factors develop my understanding and identification of my CORE believes, which will reflect my personal ethical perspective and style. According to the Ethical Awareness Inventory my ethical perspective is least closely aligned with equity. My interpretation of this result indicates that the perception I use to identify my Ethics Awareness Inventory is base in my perception of fair/unfair point of view in the components of awareness, articulation...
