Arming Teachers: Against

Ever since the shooting that happened in Florida, millions of Americans gathered to put an end to school shootings. They were protesting about gun control and arming teachers/staff. The citizens of Florida wanted their government to finally add permits onto the guns. They asked Donald Trump to “do something about it”, other than sending thoughts and prayers to the students who have been killed during the shooting. In Florida, you do not need a permit to carry a gun. Even if you’re 18 years old. Also, if you’re 21 in Florida, you still do not need a permit, but expect open carrying a gun. As of right now, some states are determined whether or not give guns to teachers/staff. One reason why they shouldn’t arm teachers/staff, is that a student would steal the gun. This could happen if the teacher left his code in the classroom in his/her cabinet or the student was left inside the classroom. Then the student would grab the firearm and start a school shooting. Sure, they probably would change the combination, but there’s always a way for a student to crack a safe. Besides, buying safes and guns would cost a lot of money. This could or may occur, but this’ll never happen. But on Feb. 28, 2018, Jesse Randall Davidson a social studies teacher, had fired his gun in a Georgia Dalton high school. Before that, he barricaded himself in his classroom and fired his gun. Jesse Randall refused to tell police why he shot his gun and barricaded himself in the classroom. No students were in his class and not hurt at the time. Nearby students heard the gunshot and everybody was screaming and confused about what just happened. The police came by arrested Jesse 41 minutes later and was charged with possession of a gun during the commission of a crime, terroristic threats, and disrupting public
