When Disney originally acquired Star Wars many fans believed that their beloved franchise was going to be driven into the ground. But to the surprise of many, the opposite has been happening. They’ve launched two successful (and good) animated series, Episode VII appears to be everything fans have dreamed of, and now it looks like fans will finally get to pilot the Millennium Falcon.

Star Wars Land

This announcement comes from Disney Chairman Bob Iger. At Disney D23 Expo 2015 Iger stood in front of 8,000 fans and announced that Disney would be adding on two Star Wars theme parks to its existing Disney parks: one in Orlando, Fla., and another in Anaheim, Calif.

Each park will span more 14 acres each, which makes them the largest single-themed …show more content…
We’re bringing Star Wars to life in a big way. ... These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet,” said …show more content…
The first will allow fans to pilot the Millennium Falcon while it’s undertaking a secret mission. During the mission fans will engage in a “cinematic battle.” The other attraction will put fans right in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Outside of the attractions, the entire park will be ran by “locals.” These will include humanoids, aliens, and robots who all run and operate cantinas and other shops around the park.

So When is it Happening?

These two Star Wars Land theme parks aren’t the first Star Wars attractions to hit Disney’s parks. Back in 1987 there was an attraction called Star Tours that has since been redesigned and re-branded as Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.

Unfortunately, fans will have a decent wait before the parks are open. The only thing teased, aside from details, were some artist concept renderings of the parks. In other words, planning and development are still underway, so it’ll be some time before construction of the parks are underway. Iger made no comment on what kind of time frame Star Wars fans will be looking at until the parks are

Persuasive Essay- Opi Nail Polish

...Persuasive Essay Are you tired of getting crappy nail polish that chips easily, loses its color, or makes your nails look yellow? Well you should try OPI nail polish! OPI is an excellent nail polish because it contains no DBP, toluene, or formaldehyde. It also has beautiful colors, and makes you feel like a Disney character. Who wouldn’t want to feel like a character off of Disney? One of the best things about OPI nail polish is that it does not contain DBP, Toluene, or formaldehyde. DBP is found in adhesive and is very harmful to the environment. Why would you want to buy something that is harmful to the world? Toluene is used as antiknock in gas, it is also flammable. If I were you, I would not want my children to have something around that is flammable. Formaldehyde is used to preserve dead bodies. You should definitely purchase OPI over any other brand, unless you want these dangerous toxins in hand. No one wants to wear boring colors; you want to wear bright colors so you will be noticed. This is why you should purchase OPI, they have a wonderful variety of colors. They have 160 active shades. Colors get retired every year, so new ones can be unveiled. Everyone wants pretty nails, so you should too. OPI nail polish makes you feel like a Disney character. It was inspired by a world of imagination. When you wear this nail polish, you will feel very dreamy and everything will be magnificent. OPI has special colors named after “Alice in Wonderland,” such as: Thanks...

...Dakota Stephens Professor Baker English 1301 9/13/13 Our Generation on Reading, Writing, and Critical Thinking Reading and writing are things that I am very well at. The difference is, I’m stronger in my writing skills than my reading skills. The reason for this is that when I’m writing I get so into my words and imagination to where my hand with the magical pencil does the talking. My skills in reading only depend on one thing, if it catches my attention or not. Stories have to get me involved with the story somehow in order for me to get interest. If it’s not catching my attention, I’m not reading it. But most importantly, critical thinking is what ties reading and writing together. I am very picky about the books and articles I read. Stories for me have to have a mystery or even sometimes a sappy love story. Of course I’m going to love romantic books because I’m a girl, right? Yet again, some love stories bore the living hell out of me because it’s a “typical” love story. Reading books just all depends on how the author grabs his reader’s attention and how he plays the story throughout the book. When I find a book that I’m interested in, I will read the entire novel. Or even something that is scary will keep hooked on the story. Scary stories are my favorites because the story just keeps my suspense in play. Celebrity gossip is definitely something that I get into reading. There is always something new with these celebrities. Since these celebrities are well...

Unethical Marketing

...standards and principles, and the significances of marketing decisions (Ferrell, 2005). Ethical marketing can be defined as “practices that emphasize transparent, trustworthy, and responsible personal and organizational marketing policies and actions that exhibit integrity as well as fairness to consumers and other stakeholders” (Murphy, Laczniak, Bowie and Klein, 2005). If ethical marketing seeks to promote honesty, equality and responsibility, therefore unethical marketing endorses a dishonest, deceptive and irresponsible approach. There is no list of right or wrong advertising rules, as it is based on subjective judgement, but merely guidelines which all marketers should follow, nonetheless not all abide to these procedures. In this essay I will discuss; why and how children are targeted by unethical marketing in today’s society, how technology has allowed this procedure to...

Consumer Behavior

...each channel, digital interactive technologies have simultaneously opened new routes to narrow cast to children, thereby creating a growing media space just for children and children’s products. Calvert explains that paid advertising to children primarily involves television spots that feature toys and food products, most of which are high in fat and sugar and low in nutritional value. Newer marketing approaches have led to online advertising and to so-called stealth marketing techniques, such as embedding products in the program content in films, online, and in video games. All these marketing strategies, says Calvert, make children younger than eight especially vulnerable because they lack the cognitive skills to understand the persuasive intent of television and online advertisements. The new stealth techniques can also undermine the consumer defenses even of older children and adolescents. Calvert explains that government regulations implemented by the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission provide some protection for children from advertising and marketing practices. Regulators exert more control over content on scarce television...

PREFACE Rationale We agreed to produce the instructor’s manual for the sixth edition of A First Look at Communication Theory because it’s a first-rate book and because we enjoy talking and writing about pedagogy. Yet when we recall the discussions we’ve had with colleagues about instructor’s manuals over the years, two unnerving comments stick with us: “I don’t find them much help”; and (even worse) “I never look at them.” And, if the truth be told, we were often the people making such points! With these statements in mind, we have done some serious soul-searching about the texts that so many teachers—ourselves...

Analysis Narrative Text

...TextTell Me a Good Story: Using Narrative Analysis to Examine Information Requirements Interviews during an ERP Implementation Rosío Alvarez University of Massachusetts, Boston Jacqueline Urla University of Massachusetts, Amherst Abstract This paper reports on a participant-observation study examining how clients use narratives to convey information during ERP requirements analysis interviews. Techniques drawn from narrative analysis are used to analyze the structure and content of different types of narratives clients tell during requirements analysis interviews. First, findings reveal that interviewees organized their experience, sought to persuade listeners, and conveyed information to analysts using “stories,” “habitual,” and “hypothetical” narratives. Client narratives provide a pragmatic view of the information system, offering insight into the ways the system is actually used and the habitual practices of the work environment. Second, narratives function to signal the embeddedness of the information system in its larger organizational and social context. While analysts may be inclined to dismiss narratives as messy or uncodeable data, the insights they provide merit attention. To the degree that narratives give insight into users’ perspectives on organizational issues, they provide knowledge that is essential to any information systems project. This is especially true for ERP projects that, unlike other systems projects, seek to integrate processes spanning the entire...
