President Donald J. Trump recently signed an Executive Order describing it as, "...the protection of the nation from foreign terrorist entry into the United States..." The Executive Order banned all immigrants and visa-holders from Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia from entering America for at least ninety days. Unfortunately, there is no security benefit from the so called 'Muslim Ban'. In fact, no immigrant from the seven nations has been involved in a terrorist attack resulting in the death of citizens in the United States.

The executive order also begins a fundamental shift in American refugee policy. All refugee admissions has come to a halt for one-hundred and twenty days, while the admissions of Syrian refugees are held indefinitely. The order mentions that in the near future refugees will only be admitted from countries that have sufficient safeguards in place to “ensure the security and welfare of the United States”. …show more content…
