In Chapter 2, Graff and Birkenstein discuss the important aspects to creating a good persuasive summary. The author discusses that many writers shy away from summarizing due to lack of confidence. A summary requires accurately discussing the author’s views in such way that it properly balances with the writers focus. In other words, its a balance between both the author and writer. One must closely analyze what the author is communicating to not fall into the category of ‘“ closet cliche syndrome”. The writer must not assume and remain unbiased to the discussion.
