Kool's Strategic Management

...Company Overview Kool is brand of men’s grooming products manufactured by Square Toiletries Limited. It is Square’s first brand specifically made for men and is also the pioneer brand of men’s products manufactured in Bangladesh. Kool’s tagline is “Get Noticed” and as a consequence, Kool products are designed to inspire a kind of confidence and charisma in a man that is hard to overlook. Kool’s portfolio of products includes Kool Shaving Foam, Kool Shaving Cream, Kool Aftershave Gel, Kool Aftershave Lotion, and Kool Body Spray. In a market dominated by the international giant Gillette, Kool was initially a risky venture for Square, whose main interests lay in pharmaceuticals. With this prudent segmentation, targeting and positioning combined with a pervasive marketing campaign, Kool quickly managed to gain popularity in the Bangladeshi market. Kool is made by Square Toiletries Limited, whose vision is to “attempt to understand the unique needs of the consumer and translate that needs into products which satisfies them in the form of quality products, high level of service and affordable price range in a unique way”. This naturally dictates that all implementation cannot be postponed until completion of the plan, but must be initiated along the way. Implementation procedures specific to each phase of planning must be completed during that phase in order for the next stage to be started. Nestle Expanding Globally

...CHAPTER ONE Introduction 1 1.1 INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION TO NESTLÉ S.A. Nestlé began in Switzerland in the mid 1860s when founder Henri Nestlé created one of the first baby formulas. Henri realized the need for a healthy and economical product to serve as an alternative for mothers who could not breastfeed their babies. Mothers who were unable to breastfeed often lost their infants to malnutrition. Henri’s product was a carefully formulated mixture of cow’s milk, flour and sugar. Nestlé’s first product was called Farine Lactée (“cornflour gruel” in French) Henri Nestlé. The product was first used on a premature baby who could not tolerate his mother’s milk or other alternative products of that time. Doctors gave up on treating the infant. Miraculously the baby tolerated Henri’s new formula and it provided the nourishment that saved his life. Within a few years the first Nestlé product was marketed in Europe. In 1874, Jules Monnerat purchased the Nestlé Company. Nestlé developed its own condensed milk to contend with its competitor, the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. The Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company made products like cheese and instant formulas. The two companies merged in 1905, the year after Nestlé added chocolate to its line of foods. The newly formed Nestlé and Anglo-Swiss Milk Company had factories in the United States, Britain, Spain and Germany. Soon the company was full-scale manufacturing in Australia with warehouses in Singapore, Hong Kong and...

Shaping Your Future

...Background Information 1. Whose plan is this? Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel 2. Business and owner details: Renowned worldwide designer Coco Chanel was born with the name Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel on August 19, 1883, in Saumur, France. With her trademark suits and minimal dark dresses, Coco Chanel made ageless outlines that are still famous today. She herself turned into an abundantly respected style symbol known for her straightforward yet advanced outfits matched with incredible adornments, for example, a few strands of pearls. As Chanel once said,"luxury must be agreeable, else it is not extravagance." Her initial years, then again, were definitely not as glamorous as it would seem. After her mom's demise, Chanel was placed in a halfway house by her dad who acted as a merchant. She was raised by nuns who taught her the way to sew—an ability that would prompt her labor of love. Her handle originated from an alternate occupation altogether. Amid her concise profession as a vocalist, Chanel performed in clubs in Vichy and Moulins where she was called "Coco." Some say that the name originates from one of the melodies she used to sing, and Chanel herself said that it was an "abbreviated rendition of cocotte, the French word for 'kept lady," as per an article in The Atlantic. Around the age of 20, Chanel got to be included with Etienne Balsan who offered to help her begin a millinery business in Paris. She soon left him for one of his significantly wealthier companions, Arthur...
