Petey becomes frustrated with the mental institution when he gets transferred to men’s ward and the men at men’s ward crowded around Petey and he gets frustrated by the people at men’s ward so he just keep to himself and the mice and his friend. the point is that Petey is mad that he can not see his family so he starts to grow up and he is transferred from the infant’s ward and into men’s ward. “as if on cue, several patients turned and wandered toward Petey curious about the new arrival, they converged as a horde on the helpless sixty-pound boy their questions blazed out like cannon fire” pg.33. this quote proves that Petey is mad at the men’s ward and the men inside it because he wanted to be a normal kid with a family.
