...Pillow Method Paper The pillow method is a five-step process used to resolve a disagreement or enable two people to gain understanding from a disagreement. The process involves each individual to look at the problem through five different perspectives. These steps or perspectives include: “I’m right you’re wrong”, “You’re right I’m wrong”, “both right both wrong”, “this issue isn’t important”, and “the truth is in all perspectives” (Alder & Proctor, p. 104). The purpose of the pillow method is for each person to gain insight from each step in the process. By looking at the problem from multiple perspectives each person gets the chance to enhance their cognitive complexity (Alder & Proctor, p. 104). In this paper I will apply the pillow method to a disagreement a coworker and I had over the new gun control laws that are being proposed by our government. While my co-worker believes that the government is trying to take away our rights by proposing new gun laws, I however believe that there should be changes made to the current laws put in place. I believe applying the pillow method to any argument will result in either a resolution or a better understanding between the two parties involved. “I’m right you’re wrong”: This step involves me stating the reasons why I believe that I am right and explaining my point of view on the subject (Alder & Proctor, p. 104). There are several reasons that I believe that there should be new gun...

...position, clearing nasal passages, and cleaning bedroom furniture are a few ways to stop or limit snoring during the night in order to prevent multiple problems from occurring due to snoring. Because sleep is so important, not only for a person’s body but also for their mind, it is imperative that any unnecessary disruption occurring during their sleep be dealt with as quickly as possible. Changing the position in which a person sleeps can easily stop snoring. Due to the structure of the nasal passageway, a person sleeping on their back is more likely to snore than someone that sleeps on their side. If a snorer is accustomed to sleeping on their back and are unable to sleep throughout the night on their side or stomach they can lay a body pillow beside themselves to help keep themselves from rolling over during the night and snoring. It is important to maintain clear passages to allow for easier breathing and snore-free nights of sleep. When someone’s nose is clogged, it becomes more difficult to breathe, which can result in snoring during the night. Steam is a miracle worker when it comes to clearing the...

Most computer science texts will begin with a section on the history of computers and then with a flurry of definitions that are just “so many words” to the average student. My approach with Blue Pelican Java is to first give the student some experience upon which to hang the definitions that come later, and consequently, make them more meaningful. This book does have a history section in Appendix S and plenty of definitions later when the student is ready for them. If you will look at Lesson 1, you will see that we go right to work and write a program the very first day. The student will not understand several things about that first program, yet he can immediately make the computer do something useful. This work ethic is typical of the remainder of the book. Rest assured that full understanding...

...Researching Variable Naming Rules Visual Basic You must use a letter as the first character. You can't use a space, period (.), exclamation mark (!), or the characters @, &, $, # in the name. Name can't exceed 255 characters in length. Generally, you shouldn't use any names that are the same as the functions, statements, and methods in Visual Basic. You end up shadowing the same keywords in the language. To use an intrinsic language function, statement, or method that conflicts with an assigned name, you must explicitly identify it. Precede the intrinsic function, statement, or method name with the name of the associated type library. For example, if you have a variable called Left, you can only invoke the Left function using VBA.Left. You can't repeat names within the same level of scope. For example, you can't declare two variables named age within the same procedure. However, you can declare a private variable named age and a procedure-level variable named age within the same module. Python Must begin with a letter (a - z, A - B) or underscore (_) Other characters can be letters, numbers or _ Case Sensitive Can be any (reasonable) length There are some reserved words which you cannot use as a variable name because Python uses them for other things.- See more at: http://www.w3resource.com/python/python-variable.php#sthash.5AXuVlWN.dpuf Java Variable names are case-sensitive. A variable's name can be any legal identifier — an unlimited-length...
