History
Pinterest was conceptualised in the year 2009 and the actual site was launched in March 2010. It was founded by Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp and Paul Sciarra. Pinterest, Inc. was formerly known as Cold Brew Labs Inc. and changed its name to Pinterest, Inc. in November 2010. The company was incorporated in 2008 and is based in San Francisco, California with additional offices in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, and Sao Paulo. He got into the business and worked as a consultant, he ended up working in the IT department which was the only department that had the opening at the time. He got inspired by Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, he ended up moving to California. He got a job at google because he was more excited than the other applicant. Ben quit his job and met up with his old roommate Paul Sciarra together they came with a product called tote which was a catalogue. After a hard time, Ben and Paul were going through, they eventually got an investor they put on the tote and started Pinterest 1.0. Visiting a friend in New York he met Evan Sharp who happened to the only one to understand the Pinterest. Evan came up with the grid layout for the …show more content…
A screen will pop up asking you to select the image you want to pin (if there's more than one photo on the page), after selecting the image you'll get another window to create the pin. You'll do two things in this window—choose which board to add the pin to and write a description of the image you're pinning.
Pinterest is both available on the web and as an app that allows for users to visually bookmark information from websites and discover content from other pinners. These pins are then collected into personalised categories known as boards. Users can also upload pictures through the app and desktop site which provides them with the option of the pins redirecting Pinterest users to a certain website.
Pinterest is a place where people curate content that they want to read or see later, use Pinterest to help plan out a future event or create a wish list. Pinterest is like your own organising company, where you can plan weddings, decorate your new home meet a different type of audience that can help you with your board and you with your board for them.
