...The type of drive depends upon the length of the stroke needed and loads on the ram. In this project we have applied to the hydraulic force for the angle forming machine. The Hydraulic drive is used when a very heavy pressures is required on the ram this is used for drawing and forming operation .System pressure can be generated in the form of any physical action which results in a compression over the Hydraulic system. CHAPRT-2 BASIC PRINCIPLE 2.1 PASCAL’S LAW Fig no:1 * Pascal’s law states that the pressure applied anywhere to a confined liquid it transmitted equally to every portion of the surface of the containing vessel. * Refer the above fig. When a force is applied to the liquid by a piston, the liquid transmits this force equally to all surfaces of the container. 2.2 HYDRULIC PRINCIPLES There are certain governing principles in a hydraulic system 1. All liquids are non-compressible and can be used to transmit power. 2. Any load to be lifted offers resistance to flow of liquid. This resistance to flow is pressure. 3. If the capacity of the pump is more, then it pumps out more liquid. If it pumps out more liquid, then it makes the hydraulic actuators (hydraulic cylinder) (or)...

...CAE Software of Twin-Tubes Shock Absorber Outer-Characteristic Changcheng Zhou, Jie Meng School of Traffic and Vehicle Engineering Shandong University of Technology Zibo 255049, China greatwall@sdut.edu.cn Abstract The pathway throttle and local throttle loss of oil flow in telescopic shock absorber were analyzed, and the pathway loss coefficient and equivalent length of piston holes were studied. According to the thickness and the pre-deformation of throttle slice, and the throttle holes area, the velocity points of valve opening were researched and the analytic formulas of shock absorber velocity when valve opening were given. With the velocity points of valve opening, the model of shock absorber outer characteristic was established by piecewise linear math function. Based on this, the CAE software for shock absorber outer characteristic was developed. A practical example of simulation of shock absorber outer characteristic was given with this CAE software, and the performance test was conducted to verify the CAE software. The results show that the CAE software is reliable, and the values simulated is close to that tested. 1. Introduction The shock absorber of automobile is one of the most important components of suspension system, and plays a vital role in the driving process of vehicles[1,2]. The characteristic of shock absorber influences driving smoothness and ride comfortableness of vehicles[3]. The shock absorber used most commonly on ...

...Poppet or check shut off valves Pressure relief valve simulation Function Leak free sealing of flow in one direction. Allows flow in only one direction. Provides positive back pressure on a system when fitted with a spring. Also used as simple low pressure relief valves. Setting Fixed spring to control the opening or cracking pressure Fit valves without springs vertically Variations Pilot operated – can be opened by pilot pressure to allow flow back through valves. Can be used as leak free directional valves. Typically for low flow, high pressure situations or for very high flows where directional valves are expensive or not suitable. Directional control valves Function Stops/starts flow or directs flow into A or B service lines. Variations Manual or electrical operation. Spool centre positions vary depending on free flow path or pressure venting. Pilot or direct operated valves. Low flows generally direct acting but large flows require pilot operation. Pressure relief valves Function Limits the maximum pressure in a circuit. Setting Generally set 15 bar above the working pressure of system. Back pressure - Changes in pilot drain or backpressure will generally be added to the set pressure; making a sequence valve. Variations Direct acting - quick response, low flow, leak free. Pilot operated - high flow, internal or external leakage. Unloading valve - e.g. relief valve that switches to minimum pressure for start up. Flow control or throttle valves ...

...the more promising ways to achieve fast burning rate. This is because a well defined single vortical structure is more stable than other large scale in-cylinder flows and, therefore, may break up later in the cycle giving higher turbulence during combustion.3 This experiment studied two pistons of different crown shapes (flat-crown and slightly concave-crown pistons), as shown in Figure 2. The origin, establishment, and evolution of the tumbling vortical flow structures during the intake and compression strokes are clearly depicted.3 Quantitative strengths of the rotating vortical flow motions are presented by a dimensionless parameter, the tumble ratio, which can represent the mean angular velocity of the vortices in the target plane. The turbulence intensity of the in-cylinder flow was calculated by using the measured time-varying velocity data.3 The results show that the flat-crown piston induces higher bulk-averaged tumble ratio and turbulence intensity than the slightly concave-crown piston does because the tumble ratio and turbulence generated by the flat-crown piston in the offset planes during the compression stroke are particularly large.3 The engine with the flat-crown piston presents larger torque and power outputs and lower hydrocarbon emission than that...

...All mixers leverage power, torque and weight distribution to get the concrete to the site, but getting it out of the truck is where you'll see differences in truck designs. Most of the mixer fleet, especially older batch model trucks use a simple tip-and-pour method to get the concrete out of the mixer. A chute attaches to a port and the concrete pours out of the mixer to the project. Usually, the driver of the truck operates the machinery and aims the chute. Many transit mixers are coupled to a hydraulic lift bed that can tip up the drum, similar to a dump truck, if needed. Other trucks, many of them volumetric and the newer transit mixers, use a pump to move the concrete from the truck to the project. The pumps, usually reciprocating piston pumps, can be mounted on the front or the rear of the truck. Having the pump in front allows the driver to maneuver to a section of the work site and direct the concrete from inside the cab. The controls can...

He also became the NBA’s first African-American assistant coach for the Pistons in 1968. During that same year there happened to be two other black players as well. One was Chuck Cooper who was drafted by the Boston Celtics during the second round making him the first African-American to be drafted into the NBA and the second was Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton who became the first African-American to sign an NBA contract with the New York Knicks in May of 1950. In his rookie year, Clifton averaged 8.6 points, and 7.5 rebounds per game, while helping the Knicks advance to the franchise’s first NBA Finals. Cooper was drafted by the Navy during his first semester in college. Cooper averaged 10.5 points per game and was named All-American during his senior year at Duke. The owner Walter Brown drafted Cooper against the will of other owners. Cooper made his Celtics debut on November 1, 1950 against the Fort Wayne Pistons. Ultimately, Cooper played four years with Boston, before one-year stints with the Milwaukee/ St. Louis Hawks and the Fort Wayne Pistons. He ended his short career with averages of 6.7 points and 5.9 rebounds. Since the...

...In Beowulf there are many symbols and elements. The symbols of Herot hall and Grendel represented all that was good, and all that was evil in the story. There are also many Christian elements in this pagan story. These aspects of the poem are important, but not relevant to today's society. In the poem Beowulf, Beowulf is an epic hero. The poem gives the idea of what a hero really is. Many of these ideas have been carried into modern society, and one person fallows these traits of Beowulf. That is the modern hero of Michael Jordan. Beowulf and Michael Jordan had a surprisingly similar journey. The similarities between Beowulf and Michael start with their fathers. Beowulf's father was a great warrior who had earned a reputation as being strong and courageous; however, Beowulf's father was killed and never saw his son do great things. All of these traits of Beowulf's father are similar to that of Michael's dad. Michael's father, James Jordan, was a great professional baseball player who had earned a reputation as a hustle player and a good lead off man. James was killed later in life, and was never able to see his son do great things. Just like Beowulf's father. It is know that both Beowulf and Michael earned reputations when they were young. Beowulf earned his reputation by killing nine sea monsters, all while competing in a swimming race. Beowulf did go on to lose the race, but earned a great deal of respect in his homeland when his people heard the story. Michael earned his...
