After reviewing the Sales transactions in our PivotTables, we are able to see trends that can assist us with our marketing communications and how to target our audiences appropriately. It is important to note that only one day of sales transactions were used in our PivotTables. The figures portrayed in the PivotTables is only a small scale analysis of consumer behaviour. We can use this tool over an extended period of time to retrieve more intricate and accurate data.
Using the sales transactions for the day, we can look at which region had the highest value in purchases. After reviewing the PivotTable, you will notice the West region having the highest amount of sales that day at $8033.84, almost double the amount of the next highest region, the South at $4551.83. Following closely behind, we have the East region at $4227.87 and lastly, the North region at $2988.07. With these figures, we are able to understand which regions we will need to focus more of our marketing towards to gain higher sales. It may be beneficial to take a step further into this avenue, and gather information on our consumer demographics in each region so we can use direct marketing to increase sales effectively.
Another figure we reviewed was regarding the most common payment method. We compared Credit Cards as a whole, with PayPal. With Credit Card usage, we earned $3,303,106 which is almost double the amount PayPal brought in, $1,927,199. Although it is known the majority of PayPal payments come from Credit Cards, we are able to classify the revenue instantly as purchases made online. We can use this information within our marketing to advertise the consumers most preferred way of payments as our most accepted.
