Sometimes that means coping ideas, dissecting to duplicate, wearing second hand, and recycling discard. Basically, very little in my life is original. So tasked with defining plagiarism I did what I do best – I surveyed others. I asked thirteen of my co-workers to give me their definition of plagiarism in one word. Of those surveyed; 40% responded copying, 40% responded cheating, and 20% defined plagiarism as stealing, fraud, or theft. All the answers pooled are correct but plagiarism goes beyond willful intention. Unintentionally taking someone else’s material and representing it as your own is also considered plagiarism.
