Manners in which people conduct themselves are most readily attributed as behaviors; therefore clichés such as all people are different are truly an understatement. This concept is most amplified in the platinum DISC assessment. When confronted with a situation that involves multiples personality such as vocation, each person brings and adds their perspectives and values to the overall resolution. Genuinely I am intrigue with individual’s assessments because of the variety of traits that lead to each person’s character. People could have a similar style and yet still be exceedingly different. We can attribute that to basic commonalities that humans share such as goals, dreams and admirations. There are four DISC platinum primary behavioral styles such as dominance (D style), interactive (I style), steadiness (S style) and cautious (C style). People who fall under the dominance category are people who are willing and able to take the lead. They are go-getters who want to accomplish many things. Interactive people are people who are friendly and more concerned with building relationships rather than being task oriented. Often times they are considered to be party animals because of their carefree attitude. The steadiness style has a warm personality and they are often considered nurturers. They are excellent listeners as well as planners however; they are slow when it comes to making decisions. People who fall under the cautious style are people who are concerned with perfecting their work. They are the kind of people who will go over their work more than once to make sure that it is perfect. Cautious people do not take many risks because of their constant need to analyze things. Based on the DISC platinum results for each team member, we balance each other as a group. Three of the members are interactive. We have two dominant members and one cautious person. As a group, it is important for us to find effective ways to communication with each other. Since our personalities are different we have to adapt to each other’s style in order to convey a message. Someone with a D style could possibly be an intimidating presence to someone who is a C style. By the same token a D style individual would require the development of patients to interact with a cautious personality. Interactive people are predisposed to be influencer and generally are more people oriented; they have a keen sense for making people feel good. I style individuals are personable, therefore they place people before the assignment, this would easily conflict with a D style person who focuses on the task at hand and is not as concerned with the people aspect a goal. Having two dominate people in a group can cause a potential problem because people who fall under this category tend to have a problem taking orders from others. Based on the analysis, most of the team members agreed with their assessment results. Melissa has proved to have a dominant behavior style because of her ability to take the lead by being the person to initiate the group’s assignments. Shalisha has also proved to be a dominant driving force behind getting assignments started as well as being a person who isn’t afraid to confront the team with any issues. James, Kimberly and Philicia have interactive behavioral styles because they come off as friendly people. They also enjoy being free from the constraints of management. The three of them are looked upon as extremely positive individuals due to their positive outlook and life. Gloria was the only cautious behavioral style. She has proved to be a person who is persistent as well as analytical. Gloria is good at planning and she is very dependable. Team A discussed the study of our individual extent of behavior.
