This unique fish is found in the Indian Ocean, Pacific and along the African Coast. The Pointed-Head Gudgeon is known by different names which include Duckbill Sleeper, Butis Butis, Crazy Fish or the upside down sleeper. One interesting fact about the Pointed-Head Gudgeon is that it swims vertically or upside down when it wants to hunt. The fish does not have very attractive colors and is rather drab in its appearance. Also, the Pointed-Head Gudgeon is a predatory fish which can feed on other smaller fishes in its range. They are found in well vegetated waters although it is not uncommon to find them in Mangrove Swamps.
The Pointed-Head Gudgeon can grow up to 5.9 inches. This makes it rather large fish and would need a large tank to survive.
