Police surveillance, from the time they put on their suits to the time they get out of their suits does not show enough evidence for brutal killings. While placing cameras onto squad outfits and dashboards does help provide answers to mysteries, ultimately, cops killing innocent people has not been tamed. Thus, cops should have more surveillance on them and always have their cameras charged before leaving the police station because they may calm police down from police brutality, show more proof and evidence to cases, and look at the video to see if anything came up missing.

Through the recent couple of years, many cases of brutal killings have been coming up. Although some of these cases are reasonable and seem necessary, most of the cases

Regulated Police Surveillance Research Paper

...currently. The unjust murder of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson started more public discussion about racism and police brutality than since the 1992 Rodney King riots. With large groups of protesters in Ferguson living under de facto martial law, it was obvious that something needed to be done. Many suggest that with video monitoring of police, the rates of violence would drop. Widespread, regulated police surveillance creates more video evidence to aid police in conviction of guilty people, and subsequently leads to much less police violence and a higher conviction rate of guilty officers due to being watched and having all their actions recorded and reviewed. It is a common known phenomenon within the psychiatric community that people often change their behavior when they know they are being watched. Instead of acting violent or aggressive, humans tend to...

Security Cameras in the U.S.

...Alec Simmons 3/27/15 Research Paper English 11 If more surveillance was added to society it is believed that it would make the community safer and very beneficial. Automated cameras are the hot new law enforcement tool. Cities use them to catch red light runners and speeders. Washington is setting up hundreds of cameras to monitor streets, federal buildings, subway stations, and other locations. Cameras are not cause for concern, then, when it comes to individual privacy, fairness, or accuracy; the real issue is government power. Cameras are a tool that can be used for good reasons that include watching children in school, decrease the amount of crimes committed, and help the government. Schools have somewhat started to add cameras in their hallways for multiple reasons. One reason is it would help identify a suspect if there happened to be a crime committed in the school like a shooting. The cameras could help both during and after an incident. Video footage will go over the Internet to computers that both school officials and police can access in real time if an emergency arises. It's possible that surveillance could help find the location of the threat and allow safe evacuations from other parts of the building. Not only do school security cameras help you maintain safety around your campus, they also discourage misbehavior. Being very obviously placed, school surveillance cameras have been shown to reduce threats of violence and vandalism drastically. One problem...

Police Patrol and Its Inducing Effect in Reducing Crime and Disorders

... Marcus Felson Introduction Police operations cover the mission-critical aspects of a police organization: policies, institutional arrangements, processes and resources for the performance of the policeman’s main functions. Police Operations encompass a wide range of activities, particularly patrol and traffic operations, implementation of special laws, command and control, civil disturbance, disaster management, terrorism, deployment of troops, internal security operations and community-oriented policing, with due regard to human rights. Police Patrol has always been the backbone of protecting the public, and as far back as society had begun to get organized into groups and communities, mankind has always had people to patrol, to show a strong presence, as well as be on the look-out for danger at all levels, and then be able to respond. And if it wasn't for the Police patrolling your neighborhood, your local community and even your entire city, then the little world that you live in, would become Survival Of The Fittest.  We must tell you that in all the world of defense, police patrol is the best way for the police to defend us. High police visibility discourages criminals. Normally, criminals think twice before executing their plans if there is obvious presence of police officers. Thus, patrol activity should be carried in a manner that attracts maximum attention to the police officer or police vehicles. The general goals of the police patrol force are protection of life...

Corruption Comes Home

...Enforcement Taren A. Lalli IFS2075 Professor Maier-Katkin March 6, 2015 Corruption Comes Home: Domestic Violence and Abuse by Law Enforcement At the beginning of my research and initial framing of this paper, I proposed to write about the drug system within American prisons across the scope of the nation. It wasn’t until a, somewhat recent, article came across my computer screen about a Honolulu officer being investigated after allegedly beating up his girlfriend that changed my mind completely (Blaine, 2014). Many of the qualities valued in on-duty, or even off-duty, police officers can make them dangerous domestic violence offenders. Domestic violence is a multifaceted complex phenomenon. It includes abusive acts towards children, intimate partners regardless of gender, and the elderly. All abusers use similar methods to control and abuse their intimate partners. Officers however, have skills and tactics not generally possessed by civilians. Professional training in combat, intimidation, interrogation, weapons and surveillance become a dangerous and potentially lethal combination in an intimate partner or domestic situation. Victims face the bias of law enforcement agencies and the legal system, psychological fear, and a high lethality risk. This is because victims of domestic violence by police officers are in a very different situation than that of other victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence is unique in that the parties share a personal, emotional and sexual...

Arson

...Johnny Brown 11/08/2012 Final Term Paper Arson Investigator The reason I decided to choose this topic, and not something about a particular part of the fire service, is because I was watching a TV show CSI where they solve crimes and such. Well this topic of fire fighter arson was on the show where a fire fighter set a fire on purpose. So I decided that it looked interesting considering it is what I want to do. Fire fighter arson is basically when a fire fighter sets a fire and I will break it down on why some fire fighters do it, affects of fire fighter arson, basic profile of the fire fighter arsonist, fire service responsibilities in preventing fire fighter arson, and actions to take when a problem is suspected. There were a number of people who had been arrested for this crime and were willing to share their motivations. The biggest reason was people were looking for recognition and liked to play the role of a hero. These people would get a thrill to be the reporting party or to be first on the scene. Another reason is a person might have a psychiatric problem that they have towards the fascination with fire. While others have a low self-esteem or self-confidence, and they want to feel like they belong to a group and are accepted by others. There are many effects of fire fighter arson, which all are very clear cut effects, they include the possibility of injury, loss of life, property and financial loss due to fire, and the increase of insurance premiums that we pay...
