POLICIES TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND SAFETY
EXCLUSION FOR ILLNESS
As a center director, Cheryl should have a clear written policies for excluding sick children from the child care center. Also, she needs to give each parent or guardian of her exclusion of illness policy when each child is enrolled. Daily health checks should be performed upon arrival of each child each day. The teacher should objectively determine if a child is ill or well. The teacher should be able to determine which children which mild illnesses can remain in the center and which to be excluded. Here some Symptoms Requiring Removal of a Child from the Child Care Setting: Fever--AND sore throat, rash,
Vomiting and diarrhea,

2- A) Parents, you will have to pick up a child from the child care facility if your child sick or experience one of the symptoms above. Your child must be picked up within that hour that I call notifying you of the illness. Please if you can't afford to miss work, make sure you can make alternate arrangements for your child in case she/he becomes sick (Please! check the child care center website if you need alternative care arrangement).
B) SERIOUS INJURIES: Parents will be notified in the event of a serious injury if an emergency injury or illness occurs, you will be contacted immediately. If we are unable to contact either parent, we will call the emergency contact numbers supplied to me to make the medical decisions for the child. If necessary, your child will be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Parents are responsible for costs involved in emergency medical treatment, including transportation if
