Tomorrow’s Forecast: Our future is Now

Forum create discussion environment by saving any information posted on a certain topic for others to see at any time, thus people can have high-quality discussions since they would have time to think about and research the topic or comment at hand. It also improves the ability to express and see differing views and opinions on a diverse range of topics. The forum was called “Politikapekonomiya” The purpose of the event is to discuss political and economic issues over a cup of coffee. The theme of the forum was “Tomorrow’s Forecast: Our future is Now” The mechanics of the event discussed by Ms. Gina Bonifacio. The invited experts were introduced by Ms. Rica Ani. The speakers were Mr. Carl Joseph Sammocte, Mr. Arnel Lopez S Jose. Nparrato Jr., Ms. Marissa Argente and Mr. Romeo Sulit also attended. Two issues were discussed and were presented through video clips. The first issue was "What Pnoy and administration has done and if the statistical data reflects the real situation of the country and what can be done by the next administration?" It is an economic issue. The second issues tackles about "Information Shortcut." Information shortcut refers on how educated we as a voter. It is a political issue. After the discussion of each issue, there is an open forum. Questions from the audience are entertained and answered by the experts. Ms. Shien Guhit did the synthesis and Ms. Bendalyn Landicho, the Associate Dean made the closing remarks. There is also a simple raffle at the end.

In this forum with the theme “Tomorrow’s Forecast: Our future is Now” I learned that each one of us has responsibility in creating ways toward our dream. In order for us to be in line with these ways, you must possess perseverance. Life is a continous process of learning. The learnings you acquire will helps us to deal the coming challenges. The abilities you possess can help us achieve our goals in our chosen field. Having a character and abilities will build your competitive advantage. Your faith in your own abilities is currently your most valuable asset. Always be the best version of you. Always take advantage of the oppurtunity coming. Don't waste any chances you encounter. If individuals are competent enough, it will obtain a harmonious relationship with the society. It will become easy for the government to implement policies and regulations in having this harmonious relationship with the society. In the upcoming election on May 2016, we must participate actively. Vote wisely. The right to vote is a priviledge because it is an oppurtunity to change the wrong system of the government. Information shortcut must be solved. As stated by one of the experts "Politicians are good speakers." We must not only look on what they aim for the country instead on what potentials they possess to lead the country. We must not only be impressed on what they already done instead on what still they can do for the betterment of the many. We can have our own research to help us more to decide which candidate we will pick. Don't rely too much on what we just know. It is good if there is always a strong basis. Don't only put the blame on the government because we ourselves have a great part as well. Many politicians will take every risks just to win. We must stand on what we know is right and just. Sometimes it is not good to just go with the flow. We must observed if how we act and decide will affect others. The flow of the event goes as what I expected. It was my first time to attend this kind Politikapekonomiya. Somewhat it is required. It is nice to see people share their beliefs, their thoughts and their knowledge. The invited speakers really make a good sharing. They provide enough answers on the questions asked by the students. A good choice of foods served and even the time it was served. The venue is convenient for the event. I may suggest to put an expectation box on the entrance of the venue. Every attendees will write on a piece of paper what they expect then put to the expectation box. Before the closing of the event, there will be a random selection for equality. The emcee or one of the organizer will asked or assessed if his/her expectation was achieved. By the way, Job well done to the organizers!
