1. On page 132 paragraph 7, Pony asks what kind of world it is. He is referring to how people in society will judge “but people usually go by looks.” (p141 p1) He explains himself further when he says, “...all have to be proud of is a reputation for being a hood, and greasy hair. I don't want to be a hood, but even if I dont steal things and mug people and get boozed up, I’m marked lousy”(p132 p7)
2. All the boys like to fight for different reasons. For example, Soda like to fight because, “It’s action. Its a contest.”( p133 p5) Steve likes to fight because he wants “to beat the socs heads in” (p 133 p6) Darry likes to fight because “He likes to show off his muscles”(p133 p7), and Two-Bit likes to fight because, “Shoot everybody likes to fight.” (p 137 p2) Ponyboy is different because he says, “There isn't any really good reason to fight except self-defence.” (p 137 p 3)…show more content… The main difference between Tim sheppards gang and Ponyboy’s gang is that “they had a leader and were organized; we were just buddies who stuck together- each man was his own leader.” (p 138 p 1) Ponyboy that this may give them the upper hand because they had a reason to fight.
