...“The Dammed Human Race” by Mark Twain is delivered with both the use of tone and voice to emphasize the argument that animals are peaceful and a higher family where as humans are a “distinct race”. His tone shifts from favoring the animals to a tone filled with hate and disgust towards the human race. Twain supports his findings with the evidence gathered by the experiments he conducts between the two races. Twain describes the human race as being the only race that is capable of harboring insults and injuries to each other, and that the passion of revenge is not seen and is unknown to higher animals. For example twain shows how animals are viewed as the higher race in his experiment by putting a number or different animals into the same cage and showing they can coexist, where as when this was done with different races of the human race all that was left in the end was chaos and death. Twain continues to state that all of these flaws within the human race can be attributed to that of the “The Moral Sense”, which enables the human race to commit wrongful acts and be able to differentiate between good and evil and in the end commit the act of evil. Twain goes on to state that the human race is the only race who suffers from the moral sense, in turn contributing to this “disease” of primal curse which in the end is seen to have been the major factor that has descended us and degraded us from the higher animals or...

...1. Do you agree that if you post something online it is open for the world to see? Yes, I agree that if you post something online it is open for the world to see. If you would not want your employer, family members, friends, etc. to see it then it should not be posted. According to an article entitled “What NOT To Post On Facebook,” Facebook’s mission is to make the world more open and connected. People should realize that there are limits to what should and should not be posted on the internet. People enjoy sharing photos and updating their statuses however there are some pieces of information that should not be shared. Once a picture, comment, etc. is posted to the internet it will be there forever. Some people believe that if they delete their accounts, photos, etc. that it will just go away. That is not the case; if a piece of information is deleted, it may not be visible anymore but it will always be retrievable if needed. In other words, it is there forever, no matter what you do. 2. What do you consider is inappropriate material that you should never post to the web? Inappropriate information that should never be posted to the web include naughty pictures, racial or bias comments that may cause someone to hurt you or themselves, personal information, and even negative comments about one’s job. What would people think about you if they saw you showing off your new tattoo that is located on a private area of your body? One picture can determine your future;...

...Sanika Ostalaza English 12th 2nd p.d Dec.19 2012 Topic: Posting on Facebook Thesis Statement: Posting personal information about some on Facebook or any other media sites can affect your future job, lack of respect, and possible termination from current job. Many people express themselves on Facebook. A lot of college students have Facebook pages that can affect their future job and friends. Sometimes people do not think before they write. When someone posts an ugly comment about someone else, it escalates on Facebook and maybe to where you are known. There are times that people will post nasty videos on their wall so others can view. For example I have a Facebook page and someone post up a video of a High School girl doing something that she is not supposed to be doing on tape. Well, I did not recognize the person but someone else did and now everybody knows that it was her. The High School girl was treated like garbage, students call her bad names, and she got teased. That same High School girl know that she as being video tape but she did not know that she was staring on Facebook for everyone to see. Posting personal information about you or someone on Facebook or any other media sites can affect your future job, lack of respect from others, and possible termination from current job. One thing that I would not post on my Facebook page is a rude comment about someone else. When I see others posting rude comments about others, I personally feel that person is trying to...

...Journalizing, Posting, and Preparing a Trial Balance To start out I got myself so confused at first I could not figure out what to do. I think I have finally figured out how to set this up. For cash I entered $25,000 on the credit side then I show $25,000 for common stock on the debit side. Accounts receivable I entered $2,100 on credit and debit side. The reasoning for this it is a tax bill for clients. Supplies charged $2,500 on the debit side, then I show it under accounts payable on the credit side. Unearned revenue I entered the $3,500 on the debit side and the credit side. Services Revenue I entered $1,200 on both credit, debit side for one reason I did this on both sides the company owed services to H. Arnold Co they were completed and the company was paid. Salary expense $2,000 was entered on the debit side and then entered on the credit side. Rent $900 was entered on both credits, debit side. I will be honest here there are a few of the figures that I entered on both sides I really did not know what to do with them, but I know what you do on one side you have to do on the other side so that both side equal out the same for both sides. The one I have questions about is purchases of supplies $2,500 on the 3rd was debited but on the 31st the company paid 40% which when broke down would be $1,000 paid out leaving $1,500 left owing every way I tried to enter this I could not get both sides to equal out. So I left the $2,500 as a hole so both sides would equal out correctly...

...Analyzing a Job in Preparation for a Job Posting HRM/531 February 3, 2013 Analyzing a Job in Preparation for a Job Posting According to Cascio [ (Cascio, 2010) ], the most common methods of analyzing a job are observation, interviews, job performance, critical incidents, and structured questionnaires. In most cases, it is necessary to use a mixture of methods because they may not be as effective un-aided. The use of an analysis helps to identify the competencies and pertinent skills required to meet the needs of a job position, and the ultimate goals of the organization or department within the organization. Job analysis aids in skill set determination, selection practices, provides appropriate classification or reclassification of positions, and sets standards for performance appraisals. In this paper I will describe the interview process using a job analysis. My job analysis is very close to the job descriptions posted on various websites that host open jobs for the hair industry. The duties that I perform as a salon owner are similar to those for jobs in my field. For example, a duty that is listed to perform the job that I do is the ability to provide exceptional customer service. If I were interviewing a candidate for the job as a stylist I would ask for examples of what the applicant thinks exceptional customer service is. I researched three hair salons; Super Cuts, Hair Cuttery, and Great Clips. Duty Details The ability to provide exceptional customer service...

...Journalizing, Posting, and Preparing a Trial Balance Below please find the explanation of our finances for the month of May: On the first of the month our stockholders invested $25,000 cash in exchange for common stock. The company needed a secretary to handle all administrative duties and we hired for this position which salary will be $2,000 monthly. Supplies were needed from Read Supply Company which incurred an expense of $2,500. The rent for our offices is $900. In addition, we were able to pay 40% or $1,000 of the balance due Read Supply Company. We received a total of $6,800 for services provided our clients. The general goals of financial reporting are to keep an accurate and ethical record of all financial transactions of a company while maintaining transparency and adhering to the generally accepted principles of accounting. The steps I too in the recording process for this assignment were to first make journal entries to accurately depict all financial transactions for the company. After making and double checking my journal entries, I entered them into the general ledger. It is essential to have this information available in both forms – one on a day-by-day account, and an account of analysis. Then, I prepared the trial balance report for the same company. These steps adhere closely to the principles of accounting. I double checked my work to ensure accuracy and fully satisfied the basic accounting equation of Assets = Liabilities + Owners’ Equity...

...Zappos is often out in front of new and unusual HR policies. It originated the “pay employees to quit” policy adopted by Amazon.com. And now, Zappos will abandon job postings, according to Stacy Donovan Zapar, Zappos’ Social Recruiting and Employer Branding Strategist. The “abandon job postings” policy recalls an earlier era — as Zapar says, “It’s old-school recruiting, made new and fresh again.” So does this mean you should abandon job postings too? The correct answer is “it depends.” Shiny new HR practices should motivate savvy conversations, not just imitation. In this case, organization leaders should demand a conversation about talent sourcing as sophisticated as one about their supply chain. An important piece of context is that Zappos has long used social channels to describe their culture, people, and events. Now, they have added the Zappos Insider program, which Zapar describes as a place “where people can sign up, stay in touch, talk to real people with real names and real faces, get to know us and allow us to get to know them. Our Insiders are people who might like to work for Zappos someday … today, tomorrow or at some point in the future.” It’s an old-school idea common to technology companies as far back as the 1980’s, akin to “we know more about the engineers that work for our competitors than they do.” Another context element is that this policy applies to call centers, which employ a large number of people doing jobs that are similar, easily described...

There focus is on teamwork and team building seeing that it has a dramatic affect on organizational outcomes. They believe imperatively that leaders are competent on how to efficiently train new team members (new hires), be able to articulate the organizational vision, identify motivators for productive employees, and implement efficient goal setting. Strategic development of teams, roles, responsibilities, structure, and the skills for conflict resolution can all contribute or hinder growth and efficient operation of their organizations. ...In my view The Kite Runner is an epic story with a personal history of what the people of Afghanistan had and have to endure in an ordinary every day life; a country that is divided between political powers and religiously idealistic views and beliefs which creates poverty, and violence within the people and their terrorist run country. The story line is more personal with the description of Afghanistan's culture and traditions, along with the lives of the people who live in Kabul. The story provides an educational and eye-opening account of a country's political chaos. Of course there are many things that are unsaid and under explained in this tragic novel which, in my observation, is an oversimplification. There is also a heavy use of emotional appeal, and an underlying message. This is a flag for propaganda. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini begins in the 1970s in Kabul, Afghanistan, when the country is in a time of an ending monarchy. The main character, Amir, is the son of wealthy Afghanistan business man, and his playmate, Hassan, the son of his father's houseman, Ali. Hassan is a Hazara and Amir is a Pashtun, which makes them from different social classes. The author has undoubtedly stirred my emotions and I admit that I did cry several times. I think that this was the author's objective; this is an appeal to emotion, one of the fallacies of propaganda. Propaganda is a message or an idea that persuades the audience to change their perspectives in one way or another...
