...In today’s society, we are often faced with many social phenomena. Among social media and other social platforms, people are debating their opinions towards one another against certain topics. One of the most popular discussions is abortion. Abortion is the forced ending of pregnancy by removing the fetus from the womb before completing development. Being a strong pro-life supporter myself, I have a lot of experience in debates on this subject. I have also researched a few things to further my knowledge on the violence brought into this highly sensitive and controversial debate. My goal in this essay is to express who I am and what I believe in by providing information and my own opinions on this topic. There are mainly two main opinions in this debate, whether a person is pro-life or pro-choice. As I have mentioned before, I am pro-life, which means I do not believe in the act of aborting babies or taking birth control pills that could kill their babies. Many people may disagree with me and say that I am wrong to take away anyone’s right to do what they want with their body. However; I ask myself; how is it right to take away a life? According to a recent survey given by Operation Rescue, 61% of women decide to abort their babies at the 9 week gestational period. Most pro-choice advocates would argue that the baby is just a embryo and has not fully developed yet but according to a legitimate gestational website, during this 9 week period the baby’s heart has divided into four...

...Pregnancies among the ages 15-19 in 2006 statistics say rate was 60% above the national average in Wilmington DE. I think to prevent teen pregnancies parents should communicate more with their children about sex and ask questions. Kids have lots of questions about sex, and they often say that the source they'd most like to go to for answers is their parents. Parents should also supervise monitor their adolescents, such as establish rules, curfews and stands in behavior. Also to prevent early pregnancies parents should know their children’s friends and families. Friends tend to sometimes have a strong influence on each other. Help your child become friends with kids whose families have the values as you do. Parents should also discourage early, frequent and steady dating. Group activities among young teenagers under the age of 16 can lead to trouble. Take a strong stand against your daughters dating a much older boy, and your son dating a much younger girl. Friends tend to sometimes have a strong influence on each other. Preventing pregnancies you should also use condoms, birth control, or practice abstinence. Always be aware of what teens are watching, reading, and listening to music which sends the wrong message to teens. Each year, nearly 750,000 teenagers become pregnant. Teen pregnancy rates have decreased overall. Since 1990, statistics still remain too high and teen pregnancies still is on the rise. In 2010 President Barack Obama made significant changes...

Finally, avoid speaking directly to the readers, omitting the second person pronouns (you/you). At this point, you will primarily be writing in the third person point of view. ...Teens and Pregnancy Before we venture into the controversial aspects of teen pregnancy, I think that it is important to answer a vital question. This question addresses how teen pregnancy has evolved and how times have changed to bring upon such a serious issue. To begin answering this question we must take a look back in time to the roles of women and men in our society. Teen pregnancy is not just a rare virus that has recently sprung up and will someday disappear due to some type of cure. Adolescent pregnancy has plagued our country for many centuries, but it is only more recently that we have noticed its growth and severe impact on many aspects of society. The social change that leads to this visibility is not only based on a change in sexual behaviors, but it also is based on a change in the nature of adolescence. These changes begin with the decline of the average age of menarche. The social changes that affect this deal with the raising of the average age of marriage, standard attitudes towards marriage as a sacred institution, and economic shifts which have led to a need for longer educational careers. These changes have produced pockets of urban poverty where education is often not valued or taken seriously. Unfortunately, the need for higher education is reflected in the fact that only at levels after high school has enrollment increased in recent years, and only in the late teens are whites more likely than blacks to enroll in an educational institution. Due to...

...Teen Pregnancy Before we venture into the controversial aspects of teen pregnancy, I think that it is imortant to answer a vital question brought up by one of our classmates. This question addresses how teen pregnancy has evolved and how times have changed to bring upon such a serious issue. To begin answering this question we must take a look back in time to the roles of women and men in our society. Teen pregnancy is not just a rare virus that has recently sprung up and will someday dissapear due to some type of cure. Adolescent pregnancy has plagued our country for over three centuries, but it is only more recently that we have noticed its growth and severe impact on many aspects of society. The social change that lead to this visibility is not only based on a change in sexual behaviors, but it also is based on a change in the nature of adolescence. These changes begin with the decling of the average age of menarche. The average age for menarche in girls ten years ago was 14.2; this age has dropped by two years since then. The average age for menarche today is 12.2. This statistic suggests that since girls are capable of having children at younger ages they are also more apt to have sex at a younger age. The social changes that effect these statistics deal with the raising of the average age of marriage, standard attitudes towards marriage as a sacred institution, and economic shifts which have led to a need for longer educational careers. These changes have produced...

...conceive and in the early weeks of your pregnancy. See that your supplements contain added goodies like calcium, iron, and Vitamin B12 as well. Week 2 Right now, you're just dying to find out: Am I pregnant or not? Unfortunately, you'll need to stick it out a bit longer. About four days after your egg is fertilized, it begins producing a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), which pregnancy tests can detect in about another week -- first in your blood (via a test at your doctor's office) and then in your urine (which an at-home screening would spot). Week 3 Get yourself a good doctor -- pronto! Having a healthcare provider you like and trust is key. After all, this is the person who will guide you through your entire pregnancy, labor, and delivery, along with the millions of questions, tests, and emotional ups and downs along the way. If you don't currently have an ob-gyn you love, ask friends, family, and coworkers for recommendations or research practices until you find someone you feel comfortable with. And, hey, your choices are not limited to regular obstetricians. You might also want to investigate alternative or additional types of care -- including midwives or family physicians Week 4 Don't be surprised if your doctor doesn't schedule an appointment to see you until your 8- to 12-week mark. Many healthcare practices have potential mommies-to-be come in for a blood test with a nurse first to confirm pregnancy and then wait until you're far enough...

...Lunch Money, Textbooks, School Bag…Baby? In today’s society, teenage pregnancy is becoming more and more of an epidemic that society should be concerned about. In most cases, this is all a result of parents not taking the necessary time to sit their child down and actually educate them on the harsh realities of what can happen if they decide to act upon their sexual drives and behaviors. Therefore they ended up finding out the hard way, and have to go through the daily struggles of being a teen mom. If we can prevent these girls from having unprotected sex before they have found the one that they are going to marry, it seems as if most if not all of these problems will be solved or at least in some way decrease drastically. Teenage pregnancy is everywhere. You see it on television programs such as MTV’s popular series 16 and Pregnant, movies such as the classic Juno, while you’re out on the streets, or even within your own family. Usually this picture of a teen mom is painted of them being alone, struggling to make ends meet, and the father of the child is rarely or not present in the child’s life whatsoever. This is a saddening thing to think of, but unfortunately it is true. These young girls do not seem to understand what they are getting themselves into when they decide that they want to engage in unprotected and premarital sex. They feel as if they are ready for what is to come with the pleasures of indulging in this act, but only when they have no choice but to raise...

...Every hour 85 teens become pregnant, but why? Girls are told that the more sexual they are the more men value them, which unfortunately leads to high rates of teen pregnancy. Teens in this decade are so worried about what society thinks about them. Peer pressure is one of the biggest effects on teens having sex. Girls buy and dress in the most expensive brands to fit in. Some of them will do anything to me accepted in the “cool” crowd including; having sex at a young age. With teens lack of eduction, some teens use no protection which leads to them becoming pregnant. Also with the popularity of partying and drinking, some girls do not even realize what is happening before it is to late. Younger teens just do not understand the significance in having sex. Why is everyone so concerned with teens becoming pregnant though? The psychological affects on teens when they become pregnant has such a negative impact on their lives. They start feeling so many different types of emotions such as; fear, frustration, confusion, resentment, and most of all depression. Their depression levels shoot up. Not only are the mental effects strong, but so are the physical effects. Becoming pregnant as a teen increases the chance of Anemia, Cervical Cancer, Miscarriage, and pregnancy induced hypertension. Often being a teen mom, you receive a lower level of eduction, earn less money, social isolation, and limited job opportunities. But not only does becoming pregnant effect the teen mom, it effects...

...and pregnancy The diagnosis of MS should not prevent you from becoming a parent but for this purpose it is very important to consult your doctor and your family. MS affects people who have or are planning to start a family, but more often women than men. This raises many questions about causal relationship between MS and pregnancy. Although, many years ago, women with multiple sclerosis are advised to avoid pregnancy that their condition would not worsened, but today we access different insights. Studies conducted over the past few decades have shown that the symptoms of multiple sclerosis can be alleviated or even disappear during pregnancy. The analysis of works that report about 13 144 women with MS revealed the following data: * MS has no effect on pregnancy. * No increase in negative symptoms nor for mother nor for the child. * Woman with MS can expect a normal pregnancy and normal delivery. For all these reasons, women with MS, especially those with mild neurological deficits, should be encouraged to become pregnant as soon as possible due to the progressive flow of the disease. It is important to break down some of the prejudices that exist and women provide the necessary information: 1. Does MS affect on the fertility of women? 2. Does MS affect on pregnancy and the baby's health? 3. Is it possible to apply spinal or epidural anesthesia during childbirth? 4. Is it recommended breastfeeding and is it safe? 5. Does pregnancy affect...
