The assumptions of classical and administrative decision making models are guidelines to assist managers in the development to improve judgment calls within the organization. The following discussion will cover the classical decision model making and the administrative decision model making. I will also proceed to discuss which category I fall under.

The Classical Model The classical model is uncompromising specification how outcomes are made, “The premise of the classical model is that once managers recognize the need to make a decision, they should be able to generate a complete list of all alternatives and consequences and make the best choice.” (George, J.K., & Jones, C.R. 2008 p.258). However the bottom line within making the classical model decision the manager must make the optimum decision, with is the most suitable decision.

The Administrative Model. The administrative model was developed by “James March and Herbert Simon” (George, J.K., & Jones, C.R. 2008 p.258), they both disagreed and did not believe in the classical model decision. One of the reasons is because they assumed that managers could not obtain access to all data and could comprehend the information if they did have access to it. Their administrative model is constructed of three vital theories, “bounded rationality, incomplete information and satisficing.” (George, J.K., & Jones, C.R. 2008 p.258)

My Management Style Administrative model is the technique, in which I choose to manage. I prefer making a particular decision instead of using uncompromising tactics, like classical model. Overall having good solid results that are satisfactory and positive for the organization is my style of managing. In summary classical or administrative decision model making is a matter of preference. And sometime a manager has to follow company protocol, which can lead us on either side of the
