EN 101. A process essay is a document of one’s procedures and observations, it can also explain a series of steps and events. In order to write a proper essay, is crucial to for the paper to contain a clear and firm thesis or purpose. This essay contains a narrative called, “Stripped for Parts.” Published by Jennifer Kahn, a graduate of Princeton and the University of California. Kahn’s purpose of writing this article was to enlighten the people of today’s society of the hazardous process of an organ transplant harvest procedure. A majority people assume that harvesting organs is a simple task, Kahn even mentioned early on in her documentation that she expected the procedure to be a fast paced surgery that would immediately heal the patient miraculously. When she observed the process and came into the realization that it was an extremely complicated procedure, it was almost as if Kahn felt as if she had a duty or responsibility to bring light to the subject. She first writes about how the medical team is preparing the patient for going into surgery such as blood tests and tissue tests to make sure the organs match its future “home”. Next, Kahn writes about how the anesthesiologist comes and sedates the body so it will not make any sort of unexpected violet movements.
