How to Find a Job after Graduation After spending years studying and working towards the goal of graduating college, once that day comes it can be a little overwhelming. Thinking of finding a job and using the skills and knowledge you learned and worked so hard for; can be downright scary. First, you need to determine what kind of job you would like to have; then you must create a resume catering to the specifics of the job you will be applying for. Creating a resume that focuses on the skills and specifics that an employer in the field you wish to work, would look at and be impressed. Finally, the most critical portion is actually submitting your finished resume of qualifications to potential employers. Probable employers that would possibly appeal to you can easily be found in many ways; online job postings, job fairs, and the traditional way of making a list of companies you are interested in and simply going in asking for an application and dropping off your resume.
Once you have submitted your application for employment and resume, hopefully you should hear from the company for an invitation for an interview. Going into a job interview can be nerve-racking, but this is the moment you have to believe in yourself and your qualifications for the position. You will have to push all emotions to the side and focus on what’s at stake; your future job. You have to prove yourself, in a face to face interview with a prospective employer. It is imperative that you dress professionally and appropriately for the meeting and present yourself in a good image. Going into the interview, you need to have a good idea of the history and business the potential company has and what role you would be playing in that; if offered a position. First impressions are extremely important when it comes to job interviews; this is your opportunity to sell yourself to the evaluator
