If a problem arises with the manufacturing unit of ski’s, for instance some durability issues. Following the issue, complaints from customers around the globe start coming in about the ski’s breaking up on the 3rd time they use it. Regarding this problem, we then come up with a solution to make changes in the manufacturing unit by using the “NETWORK APPROACH”
In Network Approach, an organization divides its major functions among the separate divisions created by the head quarter. As the strength of our company is “quality of the product”, a problems in manufacturing unit affects our quality and brand loyalty so we cannot compromise on it, which is why we see fit to use network approach. We can understand that our customers are not satisfied from our product manufacturing and it is not up to the mark so we would shift our manufacturing unit to Lahore from the main Islamabad area which will allow us to use more tools, and power advantage can be put to use for the refinement of the product. The main advantage we can gain by using the Network approach is that by changing the manufacturing unit to Lahore, the cost is reduced and our product becomes more flexible, as an added advantage we can use the Lahore labor for its expertise in satisfying the customers and bringing the product up to its mark.
There are 6 decision making steps that we are taken for the current issue

RECOGNITION OF DECISION REQUIREMENT we see this situation as an opportunity that we can develop our manufacturing unit up to to the standard and give better products to our customers

DIAGNOSIS AND ANALYSIS OF CAUSES problem arises in our manufacturing unit and it started after some feedback about product from our customers. It basically occur because of some fault in our manufacturing unit. We should not delay

True Earth Case Study

...Exhibit 7 and Table B, in addition to the assumption of the use of the same repurchase rates of pasta for the mediocre and average scenarios in the pizza market, and including a sensitivity analysis of market penetration (5% to 15%), the following forecast was obtained: 3. What can the team at Tru-Earth learn from Exhibit 6 about their customers preferences? Exhibit 6 shows the results of a survey based on attributes and substitution of the pizza category. The survey is based on a 10-point scale, where 1 is the lowest score and 10 is the highest score. Regarding to the usage attributes, the average respondent considers pizza to be "family oriented" due to the fact of the high ratings of all categories (take-out pizza with 8.9 out of 10 points, refrigerated pizza with 7.1 points, and TruEarth new concept with 8.6 points). Therefore, under the assumption that the typical family size starts with 2 people and then increase, the pizza kit size is properly oriented (servings for 2 to 3 people). However, average respondents also considers convenience is as a major attribute, and TruEarth pizza scores lower than take-out pizza and equals refrigerated pizza, since customers will need time to prepare the meal instead of just picking it up or ordering for delivery....

Research Restructuring and Assessment at Ford

...If you look at Ford as a company, it has some characteristics in common with the other organizations being discussed today, and some things that are very different. One important difference is that to a first approximation, we have one product and its main attribute has not changed over the years. The automobile is something that provides a way of moving people and goods from place to place. Characteristics that are the same at some level are complexity and scale. Ford is a very large company. It is the second largest company in the United States. The economies of scale are extremely important to this business, probably more important than to any other business in the world. The other characteristic of an automotive company, which it shares with some companies but which makes it different from others, is that the automotive business is more appropriately characterized as a systems integrator than as a full-scale producer and developer of commodities. It is more like the aircraft business than it is like the microelectronics business, for example. And that has been true throughout its history. The company is now 92 years old, and if you look back to the beginning, or almost to the beginning, what Ford has been is an extremely efficient mass manufacturer of personal transportation worldwide. It has the broadest possible customer base. The first Henry Ford had a very deliberate vision of selling vehicles to everyone, not just to the elite. The business has always been...

Pay as Motivator

...yTHE IMPORTANCE OF PAY IN EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION: DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN WHAT PEOPLE SAY AND WHAT THEY DO Sara L. Rynes, Barry Gerhart, and Kathleen A. Minette A majority of human resources professionals appear to believe that employees are likely to overreport the importance of pay in employee surveys. However, research suggests the opposite is actually true. We review evidence showing the discrepancies between what people say and do with respect to pay. We then discuss why pay is likely to be such an important general motivator, as well as a variety of reasons why managers might underestimate its importance. We note that pay is not equally important in all situations or to all individuals, and identify circumstances under which pay is likely to be more (or less) important to employees. We close with recommendations for implementing research findings with respect to pay and suggestions for evaluating pay systems. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. It is easy to overestimate the frequency with which adults actually go to the opera and underestimate the frequency with which they watch TV cartoons on Saturday mornings, based on their self-reports. (Nunnally & Bernstein, 1994, p. 383) Rynes, Colbert, and Brown (2002) presented the following statement to 959 members of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM): “Surveys that directly ask employees how important pay is to them are likely to overestimate pay’s true importance in actual decisions” (p. 158). While staying focus on being fit, eating is also an important attribute that I need to follow. These sacrifices besides playing soccer, relate me closest to the vocation of an athlete. ...INTRODCUTION This memorandum evaluates Pemsah and Sihathor’s farms’ performance based on their statements of operation and statements of corn flows. We will first indicate the phenomena and attributes of interest in this case. Then, we will utilize statistics from financial statements to measure who did better job regarding corn harvest. Last but not least we will make a recommendation to the Chief Scribe. PHENOMENA AND ATTRIBUTES OF INTEREST A phenomena and attribute of interest are both aspects of measurement. The phenomena is the object or event of interest and the attribute is the characteristic or quality of the object or event of interest. In this specific case there could be a few examples of the phenomena as well as attributes of interest. The first phenomena could be the actual farms of each of the nobles, Pemsah and Sihathor. The attributes of interest for both of these would be the measure of the corn flows and the net income for each farm after the first year. This is the main relationship between what we measured, the overall profitability of each farm using the Statement of Operations as well as the Statement of Corn Flows, and the phenomena and attribute of interest. After analyzing the measurements of the Statement of Corn Flows and the Statement of Operations we can determine which farm is more profitable. RECOMMANDATIONS After analysis of Pemsah’s and Sihathor’s Corn inflows and outflows as well as their respective income statements, it is clear...

Jobs scoring the same would then be paid the same, regardless of the pay differentials that might prevail in the market. Mate Selection for Marital Success

...Mate Selection Criteria for Marital Success: Is It Possible? Steve Goatley Liberty University Abstract For decades researches have been attempting to indentify some key characteristics or personal qualities that could be formulated in such a way as to predict the probability of marital success between two parties. If indeed some formula could be implemented that would take into account what characteristics and/or personal qualities must be present for two people to enter into a marital agreement with a higher than average success rate; mate selection could then be narrowed down to parties that fit each others needs and effectually increasing the chances for marital success. Unfortunately, while there have been many advances in this area of research that may help potential mates understand each others needs for marital happiness, a solid formula to identify an optimal mate is still just a idea. Mate Selection Criteria for Marital Success: Is It Possible? To properly understand the question of whether or not it is possible to define criteria that can be used for the purposes of mate selection that would ultimately lead to marital success, one must first understand the term, “marital success.” In the chapter titled Marital Adjustment, McKinney describes marriage, “Marriage in its best form in civilized life is the culmination of romantic love and courtship; it is the sublimation of the more primitive sex impulses. It...
