There is a need for such an application, majorly because the workforce in plant maintenance are usually spread out in the field, and the issue of support can creep up anytime. So to provide the real-time data access so that the system downtime may be curbed to the maximum level, we need the mobility application, handy with the maintenance person. The repercussion of delay in maintenance activities can lead to a lot of losses. The loss at times is in the range of multi-thousand dollars (SEIMENS, 2010). Appendix 1 shows the amount of loss that companies have to face due to a single hour delay in maintenance activities. Planned IT Strategy: The best solution for such a problem is undoubtedly Mobility system (Prokarma, 2015). The platform that we would be using in Adobe Flex, basic programming would be done in Core Java. The implementation...

Project Proposal Information Systems

...------------------------------------------------- Project Proposal ------------------------------------------------- The upgrade of agency’s ------------------------------------------------- Customer Relationship System (CRM) This project includes and impacts several independent agencies now related to X via the larger program encompassing it: the ongoing initiative of X X to consolidate and streamline the public services of major agencies. These related agencies are identified in their own department as X X. Since 2011, the X Department has succeeded in becoming one of the largest of the X's consolidation projects. It has contracted with and 'absorbed' a significant amount of the call center volume, allowing those agencies to pursue their true goals (e.g., processing real eX licenses, or Xes). The amount of data required to service the newly-contracted agencies was imported with minimal difficulty over the last couple of years, with very few budgetary or administrative push-backs or setbacks. However, the amount of data to be maintained and imported is no longer feasible, and is a stress on the current CRM. Goals Currently, the departments intend to maintain their current success rate of meeting customer service levels promised to the public, and contracted with related departments and agencies. They also intend to have minimal drop in those levels during the transition to the new CRM. Finally, they intend to exceed the current service levels, and nearly double...

Inventory Management System Project Proposal

...Management System proposal that I completed during the fall of last year upon a request that was made to me by the IT Department Board. The main objective of the proposal was to analyze the operations of the Inventory Management system that is currently in use and come up with some its weaknesses and strengths. An integration of both would then enable the department to come up with a conclusion of a completely different system that would cover up for the shortcomings of the current system and add more value to its strengths. According to the proposal approved by the IT management Board, the proposed system would take at least three months to complete before implementation is done. The whole project would cost $1,500,000 to complete and implement. Some of the limitations as per the proposal included lack of enough capacity within the current PCs in use to accommodate the new system and so an upgrade to all the PCs was suggested. The user level of information was also to be upgraded to enable them use the new system effectively. The purpose of this letter is to request your office to consider the viability of this project in terms of cost effectiveness and achievement of desired results that would scale the company to higher heights in profit making. The IT Management Board is then supposed to proceed as necessary based upon the recommendations of your office. Thanks. Sincerely, Ekaterina Cheburkova Ekaterina E. Cheburkova Research Manager Encl. Project Proposals for Computerized Inventory Management System

... * Pre-Implementation * Project Planning * Product Education * Design Configuration * Development and Test * Go-Live * Post-Implementation The concept of an ERP implementation life cycle is on the minds of many mid-market manufacturers as this calendar year comes to an end.  Many process and discrete manufacturers are heading into active ERP projects in the New Year, and considering what it means to enter into the various phases of an ERP implementation. The Start of the ERP Implementation Life Cycle is Pre-Implementation While it’s tempting to gloss over the preparatory activities that should take place in the “pre-implementation” phase, our team advises manufacturers to take special care in this first phase of ERP implementation life cycle. Tasks that are part of pre-implementation form a solid foundation for the ERP project.   We advise that manufacturing companies carefully manage this phase, because success at this early stage increases the likelihood of success at “go-live.” Typical best practices take place in the following areas: * Vendor Due Diligence - These are tasks found at the end of the technology evaluation cycle, involving vendor due diligence, site visits, ERP vendor customer references and other evaluation activities with the preferred vendor. This phase is also marked by contract review, negotiation and finalization. * The Team and Charter - Other tasks include development of the ERP Project Team – the key stakeholders who...

A Project Proposal for the Inventory Control System for Calculation and Ordering of Available and Processed Resources

...A PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR THE INVENTORY CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CALCULATION AND ORDERING OF AVAILABLE AND PROCESSED RESOURCES GROUP 9  SIMANT PUROHIT  BART MICZEK  AKSHAY THIRKATEH  BOB FAIGAO Executive Summary Our proposed project is a real time implementation of an inventory control system for an on-site corporate restaurant management and catering company. One such company is Guckenheimer (www.guckenheimer.com) which builds, staffs, and upkeeps corporate kitchens as well as provides catering services to corporate companies. This project is specific in that it applies to the dining domain of restaurants, but is flexible enough to be applied to many different kitchens and restaurants. In the case of Guckenheimer, they can use the software in their kitchens across the nation. The scope of this project will primarily focus on Guckenheimer’s kitchen and inventory located at the Groupon Chicago Office. Currently at Groupons kitchen, and the food industry in general, restaurant staff and managers are forced to keep track of inventory by hand. This means that they must count what they have sold and what they have left at the end of each day. They must also fill out order forms to be sent to vendors so that they can restock their inventory in preparation for the next week. This wastes valuable man hours and is a rather simple task to automate using our software. We propose a solution to this issue by developing software that keeps track of inventory in the ...

Medical Information System

...Chapter 3: Medical Information Systems (Pg.89-91) Case Study Abstract Maggie Pressman, Paul Goldberg, and Steve Youngblood are equal partners in their own consulting business, which specializes in designing and installing computer-based information systems for physicians. Dr. Houser contacted Paul and asked if his consulting firm would be interested in submitting a proposal to upgrade the information system for the entire regional medical practice. The project included integrating the six offices and two pharmacies into one system; the physicians will eventually hire an information systems person to oversee the operation of the system. Dr. Houser wanted Paul’s firm to do it, rather than other large consulting firms, which had prepared a request for proposal with the help of the organization’s purchasing manager. However, the divergence existed among Paul’s group. Paul was enthusiastic about the opportunity, while Maggie moaned that she couldn’t spend any time helping with the proposal, and Steve said this project was too big to do for them. Significant Learning Points 1. Sometimes organizations identify several or many needs but have limited funds and people available to pursue potential projects to address all of those needs. In this case, the three partners must go through a decision-making process to prioritize and selected the project that would result in the greatest overall benefit. 2. Projects are identified in various ways by different organizations...
