Relationship strategies

The person whom I have chosen to use for the relationship strategy is my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I have only been officially boyfriend and girlfriend for a year now, but we have been friends since about sixth grade. I know that since we have been together we have experienced different emotions and many different situations than we did when we were just friends. After reading the test there are many of ways that we can improve our relationship.

The “strategy of handle conflict constructively” is to improve your communication with your relationship. My boyfriend and I are pretty good about this strategy but I know that it could be better. We often have different viewpoints when we are in a so called “tiffy”. We can each be very stubborn and disagree in which do tend to lead to arguments. If we learn to be able to be more tolerant to each of our differences our relationship will more than likely last longer. We each need to learn to admit when we are wrong about something. In doing this it would make life easier when discussing issues in a calmly manner so that there are no arguments.

I really like the “strategy of showing affection”. My boyfriend and I have lived together pretty much ever since we started dating. We have a routine and sometimes we settle our affections for each other. I most of the time show my affection towards him more than he does me because I want him to know that I do appreciate him and that I never take him for granted. I think if we shown more affection towards each of another it would better our relationship.
