How would you define personality?
Personality can be described in many different ways. “According to the definition by Henry Stack Sullivan, an influential 20th century psychologist, personality is the emerging relational patterns between two people” (Mayer & Korogodsky, 2011). I personally would define psychology as a number of specific character traits combined to form a specific way of being and communicating.
What are some key personality features that define you?
The eight basic aspects of personality are perspective, psychonanalytic, ego, biological, behaviorist, cognitive, trait, humanistic, and interactionist. (Friedman & Schustack, 2011). To fully understand one’s key personality features. In determining my own key personality features these aspects must be considered. I am innately shy, somewhat introverted, and a people-pleaser. I think these three features are key in defining my own personality.
What are some key concepts or constructs used to explain your personality?

Psychology and Health Issues Program Review

...Psychology of Health in the Workplace Psychology of Health in the Workplace Kristin Haimowitz HCA/250 January 22, 2012 Wakita R. Bradford Psychology of Health in the Workplace A good attitude can go a long way in making the place where you work a more tolerable place to be. Having a healthy lifestyle can make it easier to deal with the smaller problems that seem to happen on a day to day basis. Health psychology is concerned with understanding how biological, psychological, environmental, and cultural factors are involved in physical health and the prevention of illness. Due to recent advances in psychological, medical, and physiological research, it had lead to new ways of thinking about health and illness. This conceptualization, which has been labeled the biopsychosocial model, views health and illness as the product of a combination of factors including biological characteristics (e.g., genetic predisposition), behavioral factors (e.g., lifestyle, stress, health beliefs, and social conditions (e.g., cultural influences, family relationships, social support) (Marks, 2011). People have developed a field of health psychology that helps people deal with stressors that they are involved with at their workplace. Many experts perform research to help them solidify their findings. Occupational Health Psychology (OHP) has developed from these studies, and does research so that they can better understand the needs of people in their work settings. Also, OHP...

Psychoanalytic Personality Assissment

...Psychoanalytic Personality Assessment Carolyn McDevitt PSY/ 250 February 24, 2013 Andre Watson Psychoanalytic Personality Assessment The purpose of this week assignment is to focus on the psychoanalytic personality of Freud and Jung. We are focusing on how these teaching will help us to understand our own individual personality. In reading these chapters, I really get the understanding as to why we all do and act this way. I will compare and contrast the psychoanalytic theories of Freud and Jung for their approach to personality. Sigmund Freud was born in 1856 in Moravia that is located in the modern-day Czech Republic. He died in 1939. Freud first started out in medical school but psychology was in his heart and soul. He was constantly drawing a connection between physiology and psychology. He expressed his adherence to the reductionist theories at that time to reduce all mental functions to neurology or physiological Reponses. His later theories were connected to everything in human psychology to sexual impulses and instincts. He was best known for his theory of unconscious. Freud theorized that the psychological problems many people faces as memories or experiences that have been repressed by the unconscious. Many people were not aware of such state and how...
