I have chosen this song because I think it is good, it has a story to tell and that is the thing that makes it so fantastic. I have noticed that many songs do not have a story and to be honest I think those kind of songs are pointless. Why make a song if it doesn’t have a message, something that will make you think about you as person or just think about something. The song is about a boy called Robert. He is an allusion to a mass murderer. The name is a metaphor for any kid with an anger issue. His dad is a violent and abusive because he has a gun in his closet. Robert’s Mom is not mentioned in the song and she is probably dead. Robert is a lonely kid, he is an outcast, he doesn’t wear the right clothes, he doesn’t say the right things and he doesn’t fit in between his classmates.
