“Purposes of Research”

Have you ever wondered why some people spend weeks or even months doing research when they could just google it in their phone which wouldn’t take up even a minute of their time? (Well it depends on the internet conection speed of course). According to www.slideshare.net Research is “to search again, to take another more careful look, to find out more.” And is reffered to as “a systematic quest for the undiscovered truth”

The main purpose of research is for the quality of life to progress and to provide solutions to problems which would also improve the quality of life. What you’ve learned is the source of the background information you use to communicate with others. In any conversation you talk about the things you know, the things you’ve learned, If you know nothing about the subject under discussion, you can neither contribute nor understand it. When you write or speak formally, you share what you’ve learned with others, backed with the evidence to show that what you’ve learned is correct. If, however, you haven’t learned more than your audience already knows, there is nothing for you to share. Thus you do research.

Let us put the previous thought into a more critical circumstance, let’s say that you are a member of the Philippine Army and is sent to war against other countries. The knowledge you have represents the bullets of your gun and the depth of your intellect is the thickness of your armor. Without bullets, you cannot compete against others.
