This paper will go into deeper into what we have learned as a team and as well as individuals. I think first we need to state what a research hypothesis is. A research hypothesis is "Represents the hypothesis that will be accepted only if the data provide convincing evidence of its truth. This usually represents the values of a population parameter for which the researcher wants to gather evidence to support." (Statistics for Business and Economics, 2011.) The first thing one must do in testing a research hypothesis is to make sure that a research question is phrased. The second step in this procedure will be to study the proposed theory in terms of parameters. Thirdly a study will be designed. Once this is done the fourth thing that takes place is data is recorded and collected. The fifth thing is the data is summarized and a test statistic is computed. After computing this the sixth thing is the observed significant level is computed. Once all of these things are completed the final and last thing to complete is to draw conclusion. Analyzing the descriptive statistics helps our team breakdown the basic features of quantitative data results from the survey. However, we do not want to risk the chance of distorting our original findings, but use these statistics to analyze the comparisons of answers from employees and departments. Utilizing the central tendency which are three measures: mean, mode, and median allows us to give senior management raw data to make better decisions with. Measures of Variability findings enables us to differentiate results from BIMS surveys which differs from their mean. Our overall recommendation and analysis will be given to senior management within this paper off the current raw data. Data Collected The type of data collected in the survey conducted was quantitative as the data collected in the surveys was expressed numerically. Some of the questions were qualitative however the responses given were provided based on a numerical response. The survey had employees’ answer the question provided based on a scale 1-5, one being very negative and five being very positive. The data collected was later coded and entered into a spreadsheet by Debbie’s office support staff however; some errors existed when keying in the wrong number for the response provided and inputting zeros when the option was not available to employees, zero indicated no...

(BIMS) provides food, hospitality, housekeeping and physical plant services for the staff and patients at the Douglas Medical Center. Barbara Tucker, the general manager for this site, has noticed that the morale of her employees has been declining for the past several months. The expected turnover rate is 55-60% annually in this industry. This rate has increased to 64% over the last four months (BIMS Part 1). The use of sick time has increased, overall performance is poor and complaints from the hospital staff are on the rise. Barbara and her management team have not been able to determine why morale is down. The exit interviews that are currently used are not pinpointing the reasons why employees are leaving. Conclusions The data used in the survey is beneficial to the research into why employment morale has decreased for the past several months. Therefore, a questionnaire was designed to examine dependent variable which, “is the key factor that you want to explain or predict and that is affected by some other factors …scholars have emphasized productivity, absenteeism, turnover, and job satisfaction” (Robbins & Judge p. 25).
