R.L. Stine was born October 8th 1943 in Ohio. He didn’t do good in school because he loved writing and reading. He always wrote or read instead of studying. Which made him get B’s. When he was older he worked for scholastic. He wrote kid’s magazines called “Bananas” he used the name Jovial Bob Stine.

Eventually he got fired from scholastic and started writing full time the first popular series he wrote was “Fear Street”. The series was for young adults. It was so popular that it sold more than 80 mil books. So he wrote a lot of books more than 100.

After he finished “Fear Street” he wrote a new horror series for kids. This new series was called “Goosebumps”. “Goosebumps” was instantly famous everybody like it. Other people wanted to read but they spoke different languages so “Goosebumps” was translated to 16 different languages.

After “goosebumps” began to lose popularity he wrote another series. The new series was called “Nightmare Room”. The series was selling good. This series was humor and horror.

R.L. Stine wrote some other books before “Fear Street”. He wrote these shorty after getting fired from scholastic they were called “Blind Date” is the first one he wrote.
